MAGNIFYING GLASS

This is a magnifying glass.

It helps make objects bigger.

You see more details then with your normal eye.

Use one hand when holding it.

EACH PICTURE IS AN OBJECT TAKEN VERY CLOSE SO YOU DO NOT SEE THE WHOLE OBJECT. GUESS WHAT EACH OBJECT IS.

LETS LOOK AT ALL THE OBJECTS

What ones are orange? What objects have red in them? What objects are round? What things are animals? What things grow? What objects are soft? What objects are bigger than your hand?

What we did on the last page was compare different objects.

We looked at shape, color, size and, texture.

Shape: the shape of something is its form. A ball has a different shape then a box.

Texture: is how something feels

Size: how small or big an object is.

LOOK OUT THE WINDOW DRAW WHAT YOU SEE. WHAT COLORS OR SHAPES DO YOU SEE?

HANDS-ON MAGNIFYING GLASS

I want you to look at different objects in the bag.

Draw two or three pictures of objects having a partner hold the magnifying glass.

Focus on one part of the object not the whole thing.

Are there things you did not see with your eyes before?

EXTRA TIME

If there is extra time pick objects in the room you wouldlike to magnify.Have fun!!
