This year’s Super Bowl is big number LI which is 51.This year's opponents are the New England Patriots vs the Atlanta Falcons. On Friday, the 3rd,
wear your favorite team colors, NO Hats, Face Paint, or Hair Dye!! We interviewed some students to see who they think will win Super Bowl 51.
2016 Season Record Falcons: 11 wins, 5 losses Patriots: 14 wins, 2 losses
6th Grade: Landen F.-Patriots will win 24 to 32 Sloane C.-Patriots will win 24 to 21
4th Grade: Carisa A.-Falcons will win 35 to 28 Levi T.-Falcons will win 33-25
5th Grade: Cade R.-Falcons will win 40 to 18 Caleb H.-Patriots will win 35 to 18

Parent Teacher Conference

homeroom teachers will schedule times for parent teacher conferences from 4-7 pm . On the 17th, school will still be
in session.

Adopt a Pet
By Lauren I. Students and teachers may collect food for the animal shelter this week.
You may continue bringing food next week, February 6-10. If you want, you can adopt a pet from the animal shelter to provide a loving home! The
animals that don’t get adopted will go to New York and people there will adopt them.
Thriving Third By: Emerson G.
The third grade is having a month full of fun and education! In Social
Studies the thriving third grade will be learning the geography of our lovely natural state, Arkansas! In Reading, they will be inferencing
fables, folktales, and myths! In Math, the amazing third grade teachers
will be teaching their students graphs. However, that isn’t all for
the third grader. In Science, they will continue learning about life cycles
and will be introduced to animal adaptations. To finish their month in Writing, they will be learning on how
to write reflective narratives and prepositions!
Fantastic Fourth! By: Lauren I.
Fourth grade will be studying a few new things! In Math, the students will be learning about Geometry. In Science, they will be learning about
the processes that shape the Earth. The essential question for science is: How can ice, water, and vegetation change the land? In Literacy, they will be comparing and contrasting different things and stories from other countries. In Social Studies,
they will be studying about Arkansas history and timelines!
Famous Fifth By: Victoria M.
For Febuary, 5th grade will be learning new things! For Social
Studies, they will be learning about the American Revolution. In Literacy, they will be reading/learning about the perspectives of the patriots and Loyalist during the time before the American Revolution. They will then write essays about it. For Science, they will be planting salad graden
cells. Last but not least, in Math, they will be learning about volume.
Super Sixth
By:Brayden W. The Super 6th grade will be learning about some pretty awesome things.
In Social Studies, 6th grade will be learning about India & Chi descriptive
writing, a Novel studna. In English, they will be doing for the book “The
City of Ember,” Narrative writing, and they will continue to close read.
In Math, 6th grade will be learning about rational numbers, and in
Science, they will be learning about the moon phases, eclipses, comets,
meteors, and asteroids.
Awesome Activity
By: Austin W. This month of activity will be
awesome starting with a music field trip for the 6th grade on Feb 10th. Students in Music will also finishing
up the bell activity and begin drumming. Next in Library, we will be having Book Fair starting at the 10th
and ending at the 17th. Then, in amazing PE, they will also be
teaming up with music to do the Drums Alive activity. Finally in Art, all grades will be doing paper mache.

Yes Business Expo
By Luci B. On Friday, Jan. 27, the 6th grade GT students went to Park Plaza to sell
their products for the Yes! Business Expo because they were in the top
27 out of 240 business plans. Jackson R., Josh H., Zac O., Kennadie H., and Grayson A. had a group that
was called SIS Dog Deli. They made dog treats and won 4th place for
Best Marketing. Rivers W., Sophie A., Micah M., and Grayce O. gave back to the earth by recycling old Sheridan
and Razorback T-shirts. The girls from Spirit Baggers turned the
shirts into new handbags. We look forward to seeing what these
groups come up with in the future!
