NEW YORK UNIVERSITY POLICE THE COLLEGE AT BROCKPORT CIVILIAN POLICE ACADEMY Each Wednesday: February 26, 2020 – April 29, 2020 6:30 P.M.-8:30 P.M.* The New York State University Police Department at the College at Brockport is pleased to announce that it will be holding its first session of the newly-created Civilian Police Academy for the 2020 Spring Semester. The goal of this academy is to aid the community in having a better understanding of the duties of the University Police Department while further branching out and improving communication between the department and the community it serves. All classes will be held at University Police Headquarters in Lathrop Hall. Course topics will include a General Introduction, Community Policing, Current Drug Trends, DWI Enforcement, Active Shooter, Mental Health, Communications, Criminal Investigations, Careers in Criminal Justice, and many more! The courses will include classroom lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Students will be given the opportunity to meet the Chief of Police, interact with the Department’s Lieutenants and Officers, and participate in an optional ride-along with an on- duty police officer.

CIVILIAN POLICE ACADEMY

The New York State University Police Department at the College at Brockport is pleased to announce that it will be holding its first session of the newly-created Civilian Police Academy for the 2020 Spring Semester. Course topics will include a General Introduction, Community Policing, Current Drug Trends, DWI Enforcement, Active Shooter, Mental Health, Communications, Criminal Investigations, Careers in Criminal Justice, and many more! The aAcademy is open to all Brockport students, faculty, and staff, as well as residents of the Village of Brockport. Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, February 19, 2020.
