BOARD MESSAGESummertime is approaching here at the Lake Club; we would like to welcome the new association manager, Antonia Viz-carra (Toni). If you get a chance please call her and welcome her to our wonderful community. State mandates are still in place the Board of Directors has decided to ease the restric-tions at the Lake Club. Walking trails, tennis, and fishing are now available for your enjoyment. We ask that you continue to social distance and wear a face mask. Moving forward, we will continue to follow the Riverside County recommendations on how to reopen our entire facilities.

For all the fishermen out there, we will be adding Crappie in the Lake per your request. This leads us to the decision of forming a new advisory fishing committee. If you are versed in fishing or want to learn, please fill out an application to join our new committee. This committee’s mission will be to give advice and make recommendations to the Board based on your fishing expertise. The Board will make their decisions based on the committee’s recommendations.

Thank you, to the homeowners that were able to attend our Open Forum Meeting Via -Zoom last month. I am excited to announce that the Clubhouse Rental has been reduced to a yearly tiered system fee which will be $500.00 for your first rental of the year, $750.00 for the second rental of the year and $1,000.00 for any additional rentals for the year. This deci-sion has been made so that more homeowners can enjoy our beautiful clubhouse at a favorable cost. The Board’s goal is to accommodate homeowners as best as we can in order for our amenities to be enjoyed by all.

If you have any question please call the front office at (951) 924-2249 and the staff will be available to help you.

Sincerely,

David Clark President, Sunnymead Ranch

OPEN FORUM QUESTIONS & ANSwERSWill homeowners get a reduction in assessments or an abatement of assessments due to not being able to use amenities?

As an Association we want to address how our community members feel, while also upholding our legal responsibility to continue to pay vendors, staff, and utilities, etc. For example; while the pool is temporarily closed, pool service continues, as other essential services, which play an important role in main-taining the association. Sunnymead Ranch is a community, but also a business and monthly assessments are its sole source of revenue. It is also important to note that the Board is required per the governing documents (CC&R’s) to continue collecting monthly assessments. With that being said, the Board of Direc-tors understands that these are extraordinary times and some homeowner’s income may have been impacted due to this crisis. In those instances, the Board of Directors will review account requests on a case-by-case basis. For those impacted homeowners, please submit a written request, with supporting documentation, to the email shown below. The Board will re-view your request at the next applicable meeting, and you will receive a written response after that meeting. As a community, we are all in this together. We hope that you and your families are healthy and safe. We will continue to keep you informed as situations change. Questions, concerns and request for account review should be made via-email to: [email protected]

When is the next meeting because it feels like the HOA makes a lot of decisions without significant homeowner input?

The Board of Directors have their Executive Meetings on or around the second Tuesday of each month and the Open Forum meetings on or around the 4th Tuesday each month. A notice will be posted prior to any meeting. Please feel free to attend Open Forum Meetings so that you can voice your opinions and concerns which will in turn help the Board of Directors make more informed decisions.

Is the new board changing the practice of answer-ing questions in print?”

The Board of Directors and Management will be answering Open Forum questions. The answers will be available in the Round-Up, association’s webpage (mysunnymead.com) and starting soon on our phone APP (Sunnymead Ranch PCA), and on our Facebook page (Sunnymead Ranch PCA).

When will homeowners be able to walk around the lake area?

At their meeting held on April 28, 2020, the Board of Direc-tors agreed to relax some of the prior restrictions for use at the Lake Club grounds. Homeowners will be allowed to fish, play tennis and use the walking trails. No guests will be allowed. Homeowners must continue to social distance while engaging

in these activities and must wear face masks as continues to be required by Riverside County. The clubhouse remains closed for use which includes the restroom facilities and drinking fountain. These will be the only activities currently allowed at the Lake Club. Thank you to all for helping to keep our com-munity members safe.

When is the next yard sale? Will there be one be-fore October since April was cancelled?

It is unfortunate that Sunnymead Ranch had to cancel the first yard sale for the year. There is no plan to have a yard sale in the near future, as the State of California has not issued an open date. For now, the yard sale scheduled on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th will remain in the SMR calendar until further notice.

What is the status of the refund of the payment made to the original vendor of the RV Lot?

Unfortunately, this matter is pending litigation and cannot pro-vide further information at this time.

Can we put in something that will allow us to clean the workout equipment before and after using the equipment?

Measures are being put in place to keep our membership safe and healthy while using the workout equipment and while vis-iting the Clubhouse. We will be installing a sanitizing station and a paper towel holder, for before and after use of workout equipment. There will also be a sanitizing pump outside the front office for your use. These items are back ordered and will be installed as soon as they are delivered.

Can we think about having a Farmer’s Market at the Lake Club?

The Board is looking into the possibility of having a Farmer’s Market at the Lake Club. This will require more research be-fore we can move forward. Additional information to follow.

HOSPITALITY COMMITEEWell we are into our third month of “stay-home” order but the good new is we still have people moving into our community. May has brought us 13 new homeowners. We welcome you, one and all. This has been a trying time for all of us but I am sure even more so for new homeowners. Due to the CoronaVirus, our clubhouse has been shut down and I know it may be disappointing to new homeowners that are eager to use the facilities, but it won’t be shut done much longer. When everything can be “opened” we hope you will come down and check out all the beautiful amenities. We promise we will get back to “normal” soon and all activities will resume.

The Hospitality Committee always likes to invite new homeowners to explore everything available. We invite you to attend the monthly Open Forum meetings with the Board of Directors. This meeting is about informing homeowners what projects the Board is working on, explaining how the money is being spent, taking questions and answers, etc. It is a great way to get acquainted with your Board members, and also meeting other homeowners. The monthly meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday at 6:00pm in the Clubhouse.

There are several committees for you to volunteer for such as the Activities Committee, the Hospitality Committee, Architectural Committee, the Landscaping Committee. This is also another way to get acquainted with a lot of nice neighbors.

If you are planning on doing any remodeling on outside of your home, such as painting, landscaping, etc., you will need to fill out an application for such work and present it to the Architectural Committee for approval. These applications are available in the office and office staff can advise you on the procedure.

Due to the Corona Virus the office is not open to the homeowners for safety reasons, but you can call the office at 924-2249. The closures are of course temporary, but please have patience and when we get back to NORMAL, you can go to the office during their office hours.

The Hospitality Committee was so looking forward to putting on our Luncheon/Fashion Show this year, but due to the unfortunate conditions, we had to cancel. WE WILL BE BACK WITH OUR LUNCHEON/.FASHION SHOW next spring.

The Hospitality Committee members will resume delivering the new homeowner greeting gift bags to all new homeowners as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime we want to thank the following merchants that have donated their advertisements to the gift bags:

Lovely Nails, Hair Perfect, America Tires, Encite Pest Solutions, Hair Styles by Lupita, Window Tinting bu Solartint & Green Surf, Faith Baptist Christian Book Store, KD’s Donuts, Barbara’s Hair Salon, Doggie Day Spa, Kickin’ Crab, Chap Health Services, El Pollo Locco, Woody;s BBQ, Suncoast Furniture, Fit Body Bootcamp, Michael’s Tee Service, Harmony Massage, Live Well Medical Supplies, and A natural New U Beauty Salon.

Sonnie Kenney, Chairperson, Hospitality Committee

It’s May 7 and as I sit down to write my June article, we are still in the midst of a pandemic. There have been no SMR Social Club meeting or gatherings of any kind for what seems like forever.

So, what shall I write about?

June is traditionally the month for weddings, graduations, and vacations, well they won’t be happening this year! Or maybe they will?

I am happy to say we will be attending weddings, honoring our graduates, and taking vacations!

How you may ask? Virtually of course

We are staying connected and celebrating all virtually. And you don’t have to be a geek or an experience tech person to do it! Type in “Virtual” wedding, graduation celebration or vacations in your search engine and magically there will appear businesses that will do everything for you, stories of what others are doing and great DIY instructions. Look at what I found:

• Weddings - In May, California’s held its first virtual wedding. A San Jose couple became the first to ever become husband and wife, virtually, the bride and groom were married via Zoom conference call by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors President, Cindy Chavez.

• Honoring Graduates – o Grace Christian Academy in Knoxville, TN features

senior photos with some “get to know the senior” information.

o Leysin American School is honoring seniors on their Instagram stories by posting a few students every week and at the end they will make a video to share.

o How to Host a virtual ceremony event

• Vacationso You can learn how to explore museums, libraries,

and historical, religious, and cultural sites from your couch! Take a virtual trip to dream vacation spot. There is a great article “The 12 Best Virtual Vacations You Can Take Without Traveling” that also includes links that you can click onto.

Hopefully those celebrating a birthday or anniversary this month will do it virtually too

Our June Birthdays: Tee 6-5, Rose 6-14, Josie 6-16, Sharon 6-17, Dennis 6-18, Jackie 6-27June Anniversaries: David & Melissa Clark 6-8

Remember your milestones and special events are important Don’t cancel the celebration Zoom them!

Be Safe Stay Healthy See you soon!

IMPORTANT NOTICEPEDESTRIANS WALKING INTO THE CLUBHOUSE FACILITY WILL USE THE PEDESTRIAN GATE EN-TRANCE NEAR THE VETERAN’S GARDEN AND NOT THE MAIN VEHICLE ENTRANCE

It has come to the attention of the Executive Commit-tee that it is a safety and liability issue when pedestrians utilize the main vehicle entrance to enter and exit the Clubhouse facilities. Pedestrians are being asked to not walk through the main vehicle entrance.

There are several pedestrian gates throughout the com-munity in which pedestrian traffic can enter into the Clubhouse facilities. The entrance from Sunnymead Ranch Pkwy, which is the closest pedestrian entrance to the clubhouse facilities, is located near the Veteran’s Garden and is accessible by using an access card.

Thank you for your understanding in this important safe-ty matter.
