GREEN Solar Academy
Participation at the courses offered by the GREEN Solar Academy entitles successful attendants to become part of the GREEN Alumni. This gives them access to solar equipment available at discounted prices as well as access to international expertise in the field of solar energy.
The GREEN Solar Academy has multiple training centres around the world for solar energy. It was established in 2006 by the German Solar Energy Society DGS and GREEN Solar Energy Ltd. Since then, many engineers, architects, artisans and interested people have

Sunergy therefore partnered with the GREEN So lar Academy, a lead ing international certifying training institute on solar power. The purpose of this association is to enable us to empower through training solar technicians who can become fully qualified solar installers, designers, or advisors in all aspects of the PV industry. They will ultimately be able to offer quality assistance and advice to potential customers.

The GREEN Solar Academy’s goal is to ensure Africa has local, skilled Solar Experts. This can only be achieved through a didactic training approach, incorporating practical, hands-on learning. The t r a i n i n g p r o g r a m m e s a r e interactive and include panel discussions.
The practical aspect plays an integral role in all our courses - learn more by doing. Teamwork and networking are essential, hence we consider every training seminar held at GREEN Solar Academy to be a forum where individuals can come together to learn from cohorts in the field regarding all aspects of photovoltaics. Each participant in the training courses receives a certificate of participation upon successful completion of a course, with the option to pursue fully accredited certification through exams.

SolCon is an extension of Sunergy that serves as the energy consultancy arm of the business.
It offers expert advice and guidance to customers, individuals and organisations on appropriate energy solutions according to their needs.
SolCon energy consultants can carry out energy audits and assist in maximising cl ient energy use, effectively resolving potential problem areas.

Project: Supply And Installation Of An Uninterruptible Solar Power System
Location: Karanda Mission Hospital - Karanda
Sunergy (Pvt) Ltd. in partnership with local and international donars and technical partners embarked on providing solar power to one of Zimbabwe’s primary referral and elective surgery hospitals.
The equipment required was sourced through a combination of donations and other funds which were funded and continue to be tracked transparently through the maxx|BlockchainHub. Donors receive an online login where they can follow the system’s electricity production and have proof that their donation reached its destination.
The system was commissioned in mid-October 2018.

Location: Bveke – Pfura Rural District Council

Sunergy Private Limited in partnership with Dauerhaft Pty Ltd of South Africa won a tender to supply and install a solar powered borehole water pumping system at Bveke, Mt. Darwin.
The project was funded by DFID/UNICEF and managed by Welt Hunger Hilfe [WHH] and implemented by Welthungerlife in partnership with local authorities of Zimbabwe and the District Water Supply and Sanitation

Theresa (Teri) Grimmel An Insolvency Practitioner by profession, Teri is a non-executive director
of the company. Previously Director of Corporate Recovery with KPMG Chartered Accountants, she now runs her own practice handling liquidations, judicial managements and deceased estates.
Educated at Chinhoyi High School and Prince Edward School, and earned a degree in Economics at Rhodes University. Started with government in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, where he received a thorough grounding in the workings of the economy. Joined Nedlaw Investment and Trust Corporation in 1979 and quickly found a niche in Project Management. Was responsible for the complete re-engineering of Artmail into the leading stationery manufacturer in Zimbabwe. In 1988, was transferred to Mutare Board and Paper Mills as General Manager and was responsible for the complete upgrade of the plant. Became Managing Director of Dunlop Zimbabwe Limited in 1996 and again was responsible for re-engineering the company to meet current market demand. Pursued a lifelong interest in renewable energy resources in 2008, specifically solar and is currently a director and shareholder in Sunergy (Pvt) Ltd.
Dave Mathews
Francis Madari Qualified as Electrical and Electronic Engineer in the UK (Huddersfield) in 1980. Worked for Thorn Brimar (EMI Group) in Chadderton, Manchester, in the research and development section as Special Test engineer till returning to Zimbabwe. Worked at Lever Brothers Pvt Ltd as Instrumentation and Control Engineer. Joined Art Corporation as Electrical Engineer at Mutare Board and Paper Mills before being promoted to General Manager. He left Art Corporation to pursue personal business in the manufacturing industry as a consultant and project manager. Joined Sunergy as director and shareholder in 2016.
