Today’s Hymns and Readings
Divine Liturgy
Apolytikion of the Resurrection-Tone 8 From the heights Thou didst descend, O com-passionate One, and Thou didst submit to the three day burial that Thou might deliver us from passion. Thou art our life and our resur-rection, O Lord, glory be to Thee.
Apolytikion of All Saints-Tone 4 Thy Church hath clothed herself in the blood of Thy martyrs throughout the world as in fi-ne linen and a crimson garment. Through them she cries to Thee, O Christ God, "Grant Thy compassion to Thy people, and peace to Thy world, and to our souls the Great Mercy."
Apolytikion of St. Andrew-Tone 4 O Andrew first-called of the Apostles, brother of Peter the first-enthroned, intercede with the Master of all to grant peace to the world and great mercy to our souls.
Kontakion of All Saints-Tone 8 As the first-fruits of nature, the universe doth offer unto Thee, O Lord, the God-bearing martyrs. By whose prayers in peace profound do Thou preserve Thy Church through the Theotokos, O Most Merciful One
Prokeimenon God is wonderful among His saints. Bless God in the congregations.
The Epistle Reading from St. Paul to the Hebrews (11:33-12:2)
Brethren, all the saints through faith con-quered kingdoms, enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received their dead by resurrection.
Some were tortured, refusing to accept re-lease, so that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were killed with the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, ill-treated—of whom the world was not worthy—wandering over de-serts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though well attested by their faith, did not receive what was prom-ised, since God had foreseen something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect. Therefore, since we are sur-rounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with persever-ance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfection of our faith.
The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew
(10:32-33, 37-38; 19:27-30) The Lord said to His disciples, “Everyone who acknowledges Me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father Who is in heaven; but whoever denies Me before men, I also will deny before My Father Who is in heaven. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.” Then Peter said in reply, “Lo, we have left eve-rything and followed Thee. What then shall we have?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the New World, when the Son of Man shall sit on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
This summer Fr. Josiah has blessed a new
youth ministry… We are hoping to Link our young adults and teens one-to-one so that they can get together at least one time per month to do something fun over the summer. The goal is to build a greater connection between our teens and the Church and bridge the gap between them and those just ahead of them in life’s jour-ney. May Christ be formed more perfectly in each one of us. We will have a kick off ice cream social with fun “get to know each other” mixers in the Church hall, date TBD.
Note to Parents of Teens: Someone will be contacting you shortly to explain in further de-
tail what The Link is and answer any questions you may have about this ministry. Contact Prez Catherine at [email protected] if you have questions.
GRADUATION IS SOON UPON US… BUT WHO AMONG US -
THAT IS THE QUESTION?
It will soon be time for us to honor our high school and college graduates. Please help us to celebrate this significant mile-stone in the life of your young people.
If you know of anyone graduating high school or college please contact the church office and provide their name, the school they are graduating from, and if college, their degree. Thank you!
The Apostles Fast
THE APOSTLES FAST begins Monday, June 4 and continues through Thursday, June 28th. The Akathist to the Holy Apostles (various apostles on various days) will be served throughout the fast. The traditional fasting discipline (no meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, fish, wine and olive oil) is observed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with katalysis for fish, wine and olive oil on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
And every one who has left houses or broth-ers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My Name’s sake, will receive a hundred fold, and inherit eternal life. But many that are first will be last, and the last first.”
Megalynarion of All Saints Tone 8 Rejoice band of holy Apostles, glorious
Prophets of the Lord, steadfast chorus of Martyrs, divine Hierarchs, ven'rable and God-bearing Fathers: Rejoice, O ye Righteous ones! Rejoice with gladness all ye Saints!
Koinonikon of All Saints Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous; praise befits the just. Alleluia.

DONATING CHALICE WINE Each Sunday several women/families in the parish offer freshly baked holy bread - Prosphora - which becomes the Holy Eucharist and the blessed bread. With their offerings, they also include a list of loved ones to be prayed for at the altar. Families and individuals can also sponsor the offering of chalice wine through a check or cash donation of $25 or more, along with a list or the names of those being commemorated. On the check memo or on the cash envelope, identify the offering as Chalice Wine, include the date* you want for your offer-
ing to be made, and drop it off at the church office or in the offering baskets/boxes. For your offering to make it into the bulletin, please, make arrangements at least 3 weeks ahead of the commemoration date you want; otherwise, indicate that the offering is for any Sunday or weekday liturgy for which we have no offering.
Welcome to Our Visitors
We are delighted to have you join us at our service today in worshiping the Holy Trinity. Please take a moment after the service to introduce yourself to our pastor, Fr. Josiah. You are cordial-ly invited to join us for the Agape Meal after services. We would love to greet you and to an-swer any questions you may have about our church. If you are not Orthodox Christian, please do not approach the chalice during the distribution of Holy Communion. If you are an Ortho-dox Christian, please note that Communion must be prepared for by fasting, reconciliation, and recent confession.

Our world is guided by two principles and sources: God and the devil. All that is better in the world of men has its source in God, and all that is bad has the devil as its principle and source. In the final account, all good comes from God, and all evil from the devil. St. Justin Popovich, Explanation of I John 3:11

THANK YOU SO MUCH
Dear Fr. Josiah, Fr. Joseph, Fr. Thomas, Deacon
Elias and my Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
Thank You for your Prayers, Love and support in the last four months and during the
surgery and my ongoing Recovery.
Prayer is a great weapon, a rich treasure,
A wealth that is never exhausted, an undisturbed refuge,
A cause of tranquility,
The root of a multitude of blessings and their source.
St. John Chrysostom
Your Prayers sustained me, gave me courage to face whatever the outcome of surgery
might be and Thank God for his Goodness, Mercy and healing Power. Our Lord an-
swered your Prayers, the surgery went very well and my rate of recovery is significant
and made me able to return to Church in a short time and continue my worship.
I feel the Church is my Mother, My Home and my Joy. It is where I enjoy to worship
with my Brothers and Sisters in Christ. I am grateful to God for ever and ever.
Fr. Josiah, your Prayers, visit and anointing with Holy Oil gave me deep peace and Joy.
I am very grateful.
We are blessed to be part of our St. Andrew Family. May the Lord grant you His Peace,
Love and Joy to all of you forever.
Love in Christ,
Zaid Araya
