Why Modesty Matters

The Catechism of the Catholic Church explicitly addresses the importance of modesty: “Purity

requires modesty, an integral part of the temperance. Modesty protects the intimate center of the

person. It means refusing to unveil what should remain hidden. It is ordered to chastity to whose

sensitivity it bears witness. It guides how one looks at others and behaves toward them in con-

formity with the dignity of persons and their solidarity” (No. 2521).

Blessed Frassati Liturgy Talk – Thursday, August 7th Please join us! Fr. Gordon will give a Liturgy Talk on Aug. 7th in the Parish Hall. The group,

centered on devotion to the Latin Mass, is open to Mater Dei attendees in their 20s and 30s

(married or single), and hosts spiritual and social events. The group is named after Blessed Pier

Giorgio Frassati, a 24-year old Italian who died in 1924 & was found incorrupt and beatified in
