Worship Service Prelude Welcome and Announcements Pastor Nathan Silent Reflection and Meditation Linda Runkles
-Psalm 103, Geneva Psalter
Call to Worship Psalm 103:1-5 *Gathering Hymn O Lord By Thee Delivered #526 Confession of Faith THE APOSTLES’ CREED I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended to hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father almighty; From there He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. *that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
Confession of Sin Father, this morning we come to the table of our Lord. You have warned us not to partake of this sacrament unworthily. So we humbly repent of the sins we have committed since we last sought your forgiveness. We repent of times when we did not demonstrate the fruit of your Holy Spirit, when we were impure in our thoughts, in our speech, or in our actions. We repent of times when we were ungrateful for your provisions, and covetous of what you have given others. We repent of unkindness in our interactions with others, even those in our own family. We repent of times when we lost our temper. We confess times when we were selfish, and times when we were proud. We confess wasted hours, and days of little prayer. We confess a neglect of your Word, and disregard for the souls of others. For these and countless other sins of commission and omission, we plead the blood of Christ. Forgive us, then, we pray, for His sake. Amen.
Please turn off or silence your cell phone. *Those who are able please stand.

Amazing Grace
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come; ’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
And when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
*Reading of Scripture Luke 4:31-44 31 And he went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the Sabbath, 32 and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word possessed authority. 33 And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, 34 “Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” 35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. 36 And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!” 37 And reports about him went out into every place in the surrounding region.
2
38 And he arose and left the synagogue and entered Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was ill with a high fever, and they appealed to him on her behalf. 39 And he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately she rose and began to serve them. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them. 41 And demons also came out of many, crying, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ. 42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desolate place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them, 43 but he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.” 44 And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.
[There is no WOW (Children’s Church) on those Sundays we celebrate the Lord’s
Supper]
For children who are restless and vocal, please make use of the Cry Room in the back of the Old Sanctuary or the nursery downstairs.

Focus on Missions
Persecution Project Foundation
Persecution Project Foundation (PPF) brings physical relief and spiritual hope to victims of war, genocide, and religious persecution, with emphasis on the nation of Sudan. PPF was founded in 1997 by Brad Phillips. In South Sudan, PPF helped local pastors plant churches, supported orphans, built medical clinics, provided emergency relief to refugees. PPF’s work continues there with support of the Jebel Lopit Training Center, Eastern Equatorial South Sudan.
Sudan is ruled by the brutal regime of indicted war criminal, Omar al Bashir. Since 2011, Bashir's government has sought to destroy or drive away the people of Sudan's Blue Nile and Nuba mountains region. The area has been placed under a humanitarian blockade. Journalists are also prohibited. Since 2011, Persecution Project has worked within the Nuba mountains, helping one of Sudan’s largest Christian minorities, bringing physical relief and spiritual hope in the form of medical services, safe water, relief and shelter to the internally displaced, as well as discipleship materials for local evangelistic efforts. The majority of these programs are implemented through a partnership with the local Sudanese church.
12
A recent high priority project is assisting Ahmed Zakariah to build a new hospital in a remote Nuba community. While currently under construction, the hospital still treats an average of 3,000 patients per month!
Prayer Requests:
That the Persecution Project will receive the funds and wisdom to minister to the persecuted Christians of Sudan's Blue Nile and Nuba mountains region.
Omar al Bashir has declared a state of emergency, suspending the constitution. Please pray for the people of Sudan, especially in the Nuba Mountains, who are just trying to survive during these uncertain times. - The community around the hospital being built is suffering from an epidemic of dysentery, which has already claimed the lives of 27 people. Children and the elderly are the most vulnerable to this disease.
Pray for help in healing the sick and for the funds to complete the hospital.
Additional Missionary Information Please pray for Ben Weinreich as he is currently serving Chile with Serge and will return to the U.S. on March 16. During his short term trip he will help build an addition on a church in Quillota and give of his time to help with renovations to Margarita Wallace's parents house. A letter is available on the table in the back of the church with details. If you would like to help Ben financially, please make it out to Liberty Church, PCA and put "Chile short term trip" on the memo line.
