Discipleship & Nurture Courses

1. Following Jesus in Public (John 1-12)This is part 1 of a 3-part series on the Gospel of John, and in these sessionswe will learn to follow Jesus in different domains of our lives as a disciple.John wrote, “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples,

which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you maybelieve that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you mayhave life in his name.” (John 20:30-31 ESV)Exploring the gospel of John will reveal to us more of who Jesus is, particularly, that He is the Christ and the Son of God. With this knowledge we will have“real and eternal life in the way He personally revealed it” (Message). Or asNLT translates it, we will “have life by the power of His name.” The life Jesusgives us is not meant only as a passport to heaven. It is life to be lived, here

and now, as well as in eternity. The approach in this study of John is to lookat Him through the eyes of the disciple and seek to follow Him as today’sdisciples.Dates: Saturdays; 2, 9, 23 Feb; 2 Mar 2019 Time: 10.00am–11.30amVenue: Covenant ChapelCost: $10 per personInstructor: Bishop Emeritus Dr Wee Boon Hup

PrayerFocusOUTREACH1. We thank God for HIS favour and blessing for the year that has passed. It’s been a great honour and privilege that we can partner our Lord Jesus to reach out to the underprivileged, homeless, isolated, broken and lost people in our community. May we continue to move in power and love, proclaiming that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

2. Please pray for all the Outreach Planning committees. As we plan for theyear, may the Lord lead and guide us as we bring His message of love to thecommunity and underprivileged. May God grant us such a great harvest that is beyond our imagination as the PLMC family makes known His salvation to all HE draws to Himself through the demonstration of power and love.

3. Please pray for all the Chinese New Year initiatives. As we roll out theOutreach events this Chinese New Year, may the Lord Jesus be pleased with our worship as we work as a family in PLMC to bless those He cares for. We pray

especially for those who are estranged from their families, our friends who are living in the streets, the migrant workers who are working here amongst us and the many who are alone and lonely, that as they come to PLMC, they will have a personal encounter with our loving Father and our Lord Jesus!

4. Please pray for the PLMC Family, the many who have given generously of their time, prayers, spiritual gifts, talents and resources to serve the Lord in the various Outreach arms. Pray for the Lord Jesus to pour His love, anointing, wisdom and compassion into each of us as we befriend, share, minister and walk with all the people in need.

May we live all our lives in the presence of God, under the authority of God, and to the glory of God alone. All Glory to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!! Thank you for your partnership in prayer!

Exodus 13:1-10 (NIV)Consecration of the Firstborn13 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether human or animal.”3 Then Moses said to the people, “Commemorate this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the Lord brought you out of it with a mighty hand. Eat nothing containing yeast. 4 Today, in the month of Aviv, you are leaving. 5 When the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites—the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey—you are to observe this ceremony in this month: 6 For seven days eat bread made without yeast and on the seventh day hold a festival to the Lord. 7 Eat unleavened bread during those seven days; nothing with yeast in it is to be seen among you, nor shall any yeast be seen anywhere within your borders. 8 On that day tell your son, ‘I do this because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ 9 This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand. 10 You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time year after year.
