Rules

The Tournament will be played to current In2Hockey rules. A full copy will be displayed at

the venue. The main rules are laid out below:

RULE 1 – UMPIRES Each team must provide an umpire to officiate in the competition. These umpires will be allocated games which may take place at the same time as their team is playing. RULE 2 – TEAMS The game is played between two teams. They shall each have a maximum of ten players. Seven are permitted on the pitch at any one time. The remaining three players are substitutes. RULE 2 – TIMING/STOPAGES The games will be centrally timed and not stopped for minor incidents. RULE 3 – GOALKEEPER A fully kitted goalkeeper is required. The team consists of six field players and one goalkeeper. RULE 4 – PENALTY CORNER

a) Penalty Corners are taken on the back-line 10 metres from each goal-post b) The players may choose which side of the goal to take the penalty corner. c) The taker must have at least one foot off the pitch (behind the back-line). d) All other attacking players must be outside the circle. e) The five (5) defending players must stand behind the back-line at least 5m from the

ball. The remaining 2 defending players must be in the other shooting circle - at the opposite end of the pitch.

RULE 5 - LONG CORNER Long Corners will only be taken from the half way point in line with where the ball crosses the back line. RULE 6 – ADVANTAGE Advantage will be played in most cases and the game will be stopped only for the following:

a) Deliberate use of feet b) Use of back of stick c) Dangerous play

The hockey tournament will be sign posted from Bloxham Road. When entering Bloxham (from Banbury), turn left onto Strawberry Terrace (just before Bloxham School). Turn right onto Brickle Lane and follow signs to Hockey Festival.. Note: Hockey Tournament Parking will not be permitted within Jubilee Park. Please follow the sign posts and directions from the marshals Please car share where possible to avoid congestion around the tournament venue.

Once parked, make your way along the edge of Pitch 3 and Pitch 1 and register your team at Festival Control. Toilets

• Toilet facilities are located in the main sports hall located behind Festival Control Food and Drink

• Hot and Cold Drinks/Snacks will be served by Festival Control Spectators

• You are welcome to stand by the fences alongside the pitches to watch matches as long as don't come onto the pitch and you keep an eye out for moving balls.

• Please do not assemble behind goals as this is not a safe place to be.
