Snow shoeing

Do you have winter cabin fever? This is a great opportunity to get

outside, enjoy the crisp air and get some exercise! This course

consists of snow shoeing and cross country skiing for adults.

Equipment is available for those needing snow shoes. The schedule

is weather dependent but is sure to be a good time for all. You are

welcome to join the class at any time!

Kids: Dance class

Date: February 17-May 5, 2014

Time: 5:20-5:55p.m. 2-4 year olds

6:05-6:45 p.m. 5-7 year olds

6:50-7:30 p.m. 8-10 year olds

7:30-8:10 p.m. 11-13 year olds

Location: Dance studio above the 1876 Art Gallery on N. 3rd St.

Cost: $60.00

Minimum enrollment: 5

If your child loves to dance then this class is for them! It’s important

for kids to get up and moving every day, so why not dance? This class

is designed to incorporate a wide range of dance styles for all ages!

Lost Art of Comfort Food

There is nothing better than a homemade comfort food dinner on a

winter day. This class is open to ideas from the community on what

you would like to learn. For example, some might be interested in how

to cut up a whole chicken, make perfect fried chicken with mashed

potatoes and country gravy. Now that makes the mouth water! Ideas

are welcomed! Call with ideas and they will be posted on the EWC

Outreach page at crook1.com. Come join us and learn how to make

everyone at your dinner table ask for a second helping!

Driver’s Education Course

Date: March 3, 2014

Pre-register date: Opens on February 18, 2014

Time: 5:00-7:00 p.m. every Monday

Instructor: Lisa Dutton

Location: SHS, Room 104

Cost: $200.00, reduced prices available for those who qualify

This program teaches students inquiring about getting their driver’s

license about traffic safety according to WY laws. This course

requires 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of driving time.

This class is great for students learning the rules of the road as well

as an opportunity to qualify for reduced prices to insure the teen

Starting your garden indoors

Go green and enjoy the experience of the growing cycle as you watch

your seedlings grow into sturdy, fruitful plants! By starting your

seeds indoors, it helps supplement the short growing season we have

in northeast WY. Come learn the tricks, tips, and get advice for

making your garden in 2014 the best so far! Hands-on class!

Join us for a continuation of our fall session with Dr. England. New

comers are welcome to join for this session as well. This is an

informational-packed session for minds inquiring about mental health.

She will answer questions regarding therapy, costs, length of

treatment, and the treatments available.

Introduction to Cake Decorating

Move over cake boss! There are new cake experts in training! Come

join us and learn Shannon’s secrets for beautiful cake decorating!

This class is all hands-on instruction so be sure to bring your

supplies for everyone.

Fly Rod Building

Date: Thursday, April 3, 10, 17, 24, 2014

Pre-register date: March 13, 2014 in order to get a kit for everyone

Time: 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Instructor: Melissa Buckmiller

Location: SHS, Room 107

Cost: $55.00 for kit and materials

Minimum enrollment: 4

Interested in building your own fly rod for half the cost of buying one

off the shelf? Then this class is for you! Impress your family and

friends with your handmade fly rod. This hands-on class will take 4

sessions to complete due to dry time of the epoxy. Reels are available

to be purchased separately. Invite your fishing enthusiast friends to

try this out!

Introduction to Plasma Cam

Date: Wednesday, April 23, 20 & May 7, 2014

Pre-register date: April 2, 2014 to ensure there are enough materials

Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Cost: $15.00

Minimum enrollment: 5

Community members interested in learning the basics of the plasma

cam will have the hands-on opportunity to use the machinery as well as

the software needed to create metal works of art. Each participant

will be able to make a small project. All levels of experience are

welcome to join!

Christmas in May: Knitting Christmas Stockings

Date: Monday, May 5, 12, 19, 2014

Pre-register date: April 14, 2014 to ensure everyone has a kit

Christmas is coming early! These beautiful, homemade Christmas

stockings are sure to impress! Each student will purchase a kit then

Jean will instruct on how to knit the pieces together to make a

beautiful stocking. Stockings can be ordered from herrschners.com.

For beginners—consider a stocking with larger pieces for a first

project.

Defensive Handgun Training

Date: Saturday, May 17, 2014

Location: Sundance Library meeting room then will move to the

shooting range

Minimum enrollment: 10

This course addresses effective conceal carry and use of popular

handguns today. Advantages and disadvantages of various types,

models, configurations, and calibers of handguns as well as the most

effective support equipment and methods of conceal carry will be

discussed. The program consists of classroom discussion as well as

live fire drills at the range. This hands-on course is a must for anyone

who conceal carries. A list of required equipment will be given during

pre-registration.

Kids: S’mores & More: Camping 101

Date: Wednesday & Thursday, June 4 &5, 2014

Pre-register date: May 28, 2014

Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Instructor: Kassie Clements & Beth Sigel

Location: SHS

Cost: $5.00

Minimum enrollment: 5 kids per age group

Camping is a very popular summer activity but can be a lot of work.

We want to help kids learn the basics of camping, how to help, fun

games to play, and camping foods they can make themselves! Kids will

learn what to pack, how to help parents, and how to play safely at the

campsite. There will be a class for K-2nd grade & 3rd-5th at the same

time. Hands-on learning & fun to be had by all!
