THE AWARD Launched in 2010, the eNorth East Award seeks to create an ecosystem of sustainable social, development and digital innovations and best practices in North East India by recognising and celebrating practices that have contributed to sustainble development and governance outcomes. Every year, the eNabling North East (eNorth East) Awards are given out in 15 categories.
THE SUMMIT The eNabling North East (eNorth East) Award Summit is an annual get together of multi-stakeholders working in the region for sustainable development, good governance and digital innovations and inclusion, coming together to celebrate and recognize some of the good and innovative practices for sustainable development, identified-selected-feted each year. The platform also provides opportunity to dialogue and deliberate, share exchange ideas and experiences and share and presents such practices for further scale up, replication and collaboration.
It is being designed as a forum towards policy and programme declarations for further follow up and action steps. It is a platform for government, industry, civil society, CSRs, funding and grant giving agencies and academia and other stakeholders to enter into dialogue in deliberating on governance and development challenges in the region and exploring sustainable solutions.
THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT EXPO The eNorth East Annual EXPO focuses on innovative and sustainable practices for development, including innovations and solutions that have been imple-mented in the region or have potentials to implement with desired results. The EXPO is an exhibition of such solutions that can overcome existing challenges and can provide sustainable solutions for some of the existing and emerging pressing development and governance challenges in the region.

THE OBJECTIVES• Enables and empowers Sustainable Development innovators and practitioners
in North East India;• Felicitates and honours best such Sustainable Development solutions across
15 categories;• Creates a knowledge hub of unique Sustainable Development interventions in
the region;• Facilitates exchange of ideas between innovators, experts, implementers,
policy and programme makers;• Provides a forum for strategic networking, partnerships and advocacy.
THE OUTCOMES• Recognise best sustainable development innovations for sustainable develop-
ment in North East India;• Consolidate factors in sustainable development challenges in North East India;• Consolidate best possible sustainable development solutions in North East In-
dia; • Consolidate role and scope of stakeholders in Sustainable Development in
North East India; • Consolidate the need and role of community participation and involvement in
addressing Sustainable Development challenges and initiatives; • Consolidate scope in policy areas and suggest workable framework;• Develop a partnership framework among stakeholders;• Come out with a Sustainable Development Declaration, an action-based agen-
da to address challenges in the region and explore scope towards sustainable policy and programme in North East India.
THE STAKEHOLDERS
The 7th eNorth East Award Summit 2019 will see attendance of stakeholders and representatives from public, private, civil society and academia.

IMPACT JOURNEY SINCE 2010• More than 200 sustainable social, development and digital innovations
and innovators identified, felicitated and recognized;• More than 50 development and digital innovaters and social innovators
connected with national level digital and social innovation platforms;• A social, development and digital innovations repository bank created
with more than 500 innovators database covering public, private, social enterprise and civil society innovations;
• North East ICT Association of India (NEICTAI) formed as a next level need to consolidate the award / knowledge network since 2010; All partners and stakeholders of the e-North East Award Network now associated with the newly formed North East ICT Association of India;
• The award network liked to India International ICT Association; • The award network has become the foundation support to constitute and
form the - North East Internet Governance Forum (NEIGF) - The NEIGF as a forum for multi-stakeholder dialogue on public policy issues related to key elements of Internet governance issues, such as the Internet’s sustainability, robustness, security, stability and development.
• The award network inspired to form the newly constituted - North East Social Innovation Lab (NESIL) - to inspire, promote and support social innovations and innovators in the region willing to use ICT for solving social problems ;
• The award network inspired to develop the manuscript for publishing the first of its kind publication for North East India - ‘e-GOVERNANCE IN NORTH EAST INDIA: DYNAMICS OF DESIGN TO IMPLEMENTATION; A COMPILATION OF e-GOVERNANCE CASE STUDIES’; to be published by SAGE Publications on behalf of National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG, Hyderabad).
• A total of 12 teaching learning materials developed out of the eNorth East Award repository for National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG), Hyderabad.
• Consultations are going on to develop a framework for setting up - North East Institute of Good Governance (NEIGG) to achieve the region’s goal of Transforming Governance in the region through action research, professional advice, and conducting change management programmes for government departments and agencies to enable successful implementation of their reform agenda and work closely with policy-makers like Ministers, senior officials, management experts, institutions and other stakeholders, especially citizens towards building people centric governance practices.
• Setting up and formation of North East Digital Alliance (NEDA) as a loose federation of ICT and digital stakeholders from the region to promote and support the cause of inclusive, broad based, sustainable digital inclusion agenda in the region.
