The old town square in Nuremberg is considered by many to be one of the best in all of Germany (especially its Christmas market). As you stroll through its pretty parks and lanes, it's easy too see why it's so popular. We managed to find a restaurant that I had visited many years before, that has it's own private brewery. It was more expensive than Prague, but well worth stopping there for lunch. We strolled along the old city walls and castle at the north west end of the old town. It is one the prettiest parts of town and full of tourists. We found some Spanish tourists looking for the the Albrecht Dürer Haus. The home of one of Germany's greatest artists, now converted into a sort of museum. Even with the help of maps and pamphlets, all we could do was tell them that it must be very near. Turns out we were standing right in front of it. Albrecht Dürer Haus

It is one the prettiest parts of town

and full of tourists. We found some Spanish tourists looking for the the Albrecht Dürer Haus. The home of one of Germany's greatest artists, now converted into a sort of museum. Even with the help of maps and pamphlets, all we could do was tell them that it must be very near. Turns out we were standing right in front of it.

On the way back to the RV we stopped at one of the playgrounds on the bike path along the river.

We left Nuremberg with the hopes of reaching the heart of the Black Forest that night. But we were too optimistic. We made it to near the north eastern edge of the Black Forest region as it was getting dark. The city of Öhringen boasts a pretty and completely free RV area. It's not a very big place, but we still got lost again. Driving around we saw that the town center is a scenic and lively place. We we got to the RV area it was dark and the Biergarten was already closed. We parked next to a brook, just in front of a very nice outdoor pool complex. Unfortunately it was raining on and off the next morning, so we decided to head for the hilly central region of the Black Forest.

Unterkirnach is often considered to have the best RV area in the entire Black Forest. The town itself is one of the best places for childrens activities in the region. After numerous trips to different parts of this tourist paradise, we were very impressed with the beauty of this village. The prices were incredible too, everything could be classified between inexpensive to free.

The next stop was in France. The town of Thann has a very popular free RV area. It is so popular that is was over crowded. We counted over 50 RVs parked around us.The parking area is next to the river and near the cathedral so we had some pretty views.

The next day we drove to Digoin. It has a free RV area with nice views right on the river. It is especially interesting because of the water bridge over the Loire River.

In the end we didn't spend the night, because when it got dark, mommy and daddy still had energy to continue driving, so we went on to Montluçon. The RV area is also very pretty, and it is close to some very large shopping centers. We arrived late and got a space next to a helpful French family that offered squeeze us in next to there already overfilled plot. The next morning we went food shopping at the nearby mall.
