SUMMER SWIM ASSESSMENT FOR PASSING LEVELS
L2 Beginner class (Pike, Eel, Ray, Starfish, Pre Polliwog, Polliwog, Guppy): there are 3 levels to the Beginning Class and the student must pass all 3 levels before advancing to Advance Beginner L3. Child needs to swim the length (25 YARDS) of the pool doing the front crawl with rhythmical breathing and the length of the pool doing the back crawl. B1 – student cannot do front or back float without help B2 – student can do front and back float by themselves and know the basic concept of rhythmic breathing B3 – student can do front and back float by themselves, rhythmic breathing is improved, and have the basic concept of front and back crawl gaining strength to do it for the width of the pool (25 yards).
L3 Advance Beginner class (Minnow): child needs to swim the length of the pool doing the elementary back stroke and with a greatly improved front and back crawl.
L4 Intermediate class (Fish): students need to swim two lengths of the pool doing front crawl, back crawl, elementary back stroke, breast stroke, side stroke and 15 yards of the butterfly.

L5 Swimmer class (Flying Fish): students will increase endurance of the latter and will probably be doing 75 yards of their strokes and will have a coordinated butterfly for 25 yards.
L6 Advance Swimmer class: students will do 100 yards of the following strokes: back, breast, right and left side with inverted scissor kicks, front crawl, over arm side stroke and trudgen crawl. This class also includes extensive training of treading water, survival swimming and inflating clothing for flotation.
L7 Guard Start: extensive student training will include the following: recovery of submerged victim, escapes, water entries, rescues, sudden immersion skills, spinal injury management, breathing emergencies, approach strokes, mask, fins and snorkel.
