one month away before our trip to Arizona, and we are so excited to see everyone there.

We are definitely counting down the days until January!

With all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparation, we hope you find quiet

moments with family and friends. It will be those moments with those people that matter

most.

No matter where you find yourself these holidays, we hope that you can find the peace

and joy that the holiday season brings. We at the Summer Citizens Program are thankful

Dear friends and soon to be friends,

It’s been a remarkable year here in Logan, Utah. The Summer Citizens Program

2020 curriculum schedule is nearing completion and will be available in printed

format during the week of presentations in Arizona. The 2020 program book iwill

be available for viewing electronically on January 27, 2020 through the Summer

Citizens website by clicking this link: Summer Citizens Program Book.

Temperatures in Logan are rapidly declining with the second snowfall of 19” dur-

ing the week of Thanksgiving. The frigid temperatures in Logan makes our visit

to the warmer climate in Arizona even more exciting for our team. We look for-

ward to greeting our friends each year during program presentations the week of

January 27 – 31, 2020. Please invite your friends and neighbors to attend a

presentation with you, all are welcome!

The holidays are a great time to reflect on past memories and the opportunity for

making new memories throughout the coming year. It is a pleasure to create this

program for you and I’m very excited for the future. This year we hope to provide

you with a summer filled with Discovery, Engagement, and Celebration through

all campus and community activities available to Summer Citizens.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season and the brightness and hope for new and

exciting adventures in 2020.

With sincere gratitude,

Linda D’Addabbo

DECEMBER EVENTS

YEAR OF

THE WOMAN Noelle Cockett proclaimed the 2019-2020 aca-demic year as The Year of The Woman. USU is joining the nation in celebrating significant voting right anniversaries in 2020: the 150th anniversary of suffrage for Utah women, 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States, and the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. As the university honors the important milestones in histo-ry, USU also declared this the Year of the Woman. USU wants to highlight and celebrate the women that have made Utah State the institution it is to-day, and unearth some of the untold stories about these women. Every month, USU Today puts out a story highlighting a woman from the past and a woman from this era, showing the legacies that have been left from over a hundred years ago to today.
