    Golf and So Much More - Full DayFor kids who want to try golf but don’t want to spend all day at it, this great combo camp is a 50/50 split that will keep them interested all day long. With the help of a Montgomery County Golf Academy instructor, all campers will practice putting, chipping, driving, and using irons and woods at the Driving Range, and then on Friday, we will go to a nearby golf course to play a round of 9 holes. Golf equipment will be provided to those who don’t have their own golf clubs. Each camper will receive professional instruction, tees, and Golf balls. In the afternoon, full-day campers will participate in group activities such as field games (examples: soccer, basketball, kick ball, etc.), mini-golf, and water fun at the South Germantown Splash Park. Please note that all activities will be held outside, and can vary depending on the weather. Bring a non-perishable lunch and snack, water bottle, sunscreen, bathing suit, and towel. Fee covers instruction, tees, golf balls, and transportation to the golf course on Friday. Full-day campers will also get pizza for lunch on Friday. Don’t want full day camp?     Beginner/Intermediate Golf CampThis half-day camp is just the ticket for kids 6-14 years old who have expressed interest in and/or shown a talent for golf, but aren’t quite ready to play a full round.     Ice Skating & Hockey Summer Camps Ice Skating Summer Fun Camp

    Join us at the coolest camp around! This full-day camp includes a morning 30 minute ice skating lesson with a professional skating coach and open skating time in the afternoon to practice new skating skills. Campers will skate twice every day in the morning and afternoon including a 30 minute ice skating lesson taught by a professional instructor and ice time during the public session to practice the skills learned.     Specialty Skating Camps Ice Hockey CampPrerequisite: Passed Hockey 2 or equivalent. If your child loves hockey, why not treat them to a 5-day hockey camp? We’ll focus on skating, stick handling and off-ice fitness; and incorporate elements of power skating, passing and shooting, and games to make this a fun-filled

    week! Plus, each camper will receive a complimentary hockey jersey! Players will be assigned to groups according to their skill level.     Figure Skating Competitions CampPrerequisite: Passed Basic 5. Is your child ready to compete at a figure skating competition? Give them the opportunity to practice and prepare for figure skating competitions in this week-long camp. Skaters will work on jumps, spins, power skating, and off-ice conditioning, and work with the instructor to create a short program to perform. On Friday we’ll stage our own mini-competition so they can show everyone what they’ve learned. Intermediate skaters with a clear grasp of edges, three-turns, and mohawks are ready for this intensive five-day Ice Dance Clinic. They’ll learn ice dance patterns and the fine points of music interpretation; participate in on- and off-ice drills, and strength-building exercises.

    Outdoor Adventure Camp Discover the outdoors in this wildly popular, high-adventure day camp! Each week the activities scheduled are: White Water Rafting, Zip Lines, Rappelling, Aerial Obstacle and Ropes Courses, Go Carts, Miniature Golf, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Pedal Karts, Jumping Pillow, Archery, Learning to Pitch a Tent and Building a Campfire.     Field Sports Camp

    Do you have young athletes who love all sports? This camp is perfect for them! The Wheaton Sports Pavilion’s Field Sports Camp includes a variety of both traditional and non-traditional sports, skill clinics, and games all aimed to develop individual skill and team work. Campers will play a different sport each day and still participate in traditional camp activities. This fun-filled sports camp brings both boys and girls together to practice and play in a positive and nurturing environment. Camp Staff will run a skills assessment every Monday to ensure campers are divided into groups based on size and ability in order to be successful throughout the week. Campers will participate in daily clinics, healthy competition and mini scrimmages. During the week, Camp will participate in a 30 minute Ice Skating, 30 minute Tennis Lesson, and take a field trip to the South Germantown Recreational Park where campers will participate in archery and mini golf, weather permitting.     Totally Tennis Take your game to the next level while making new friends in this fun, week-long (and air-conditioned) camp for kids ages 8 to 14. Campers will be divided by age and experience. Younger campers and beginners will enjoy games-based activities that teach the fundamentals. Older and more experienced players will be grouped to ensure they get a good challenge during drills and point play with peers. There will be plenty of time for warm-ups, cardio, and cool down throughout the day, along with breaks for snacks and lunch, plus some off-court fun. Fridays at Totally Tennis will finish with a mini tournament featuring match play and large group games adapted for all ages and levels. Sneakers and comfortable clothing are a must.     Raptor CampRaptor Campers will spend the week learning about Maryland’s amazing eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, and owls. We’ll learn basic raptor natural history, play predator/prey games, dissect an owl pellet, and look for nesting raptors in the wild as we hike the trails of Meadowside Nature Center to explore the habitats where these birds live. We’ll learn to identify common local species in the sky using binoculars and field guides, meet the resident birds, and help with the daily weighing of food to get a better understanding of how they live under human care.     Seeing and Writing Home-Nature Photography & Writing CampIt is said that “a picture is worth a thousand words,” and a well-crafted phrase can create an image as vivid as any photograph. We’ll explore both of these crafts in Seeing Home/Writing Home. For campers who love reading and writing as well as nature, using the inspiration of the woods, trails, pond, and stream around Meadowside we’ll turn our nature observations into stories. With cameras, tablets, and even phones we’ll document what we see and explore using words and pictures to share our outdoor experiences with others.
