SUMMER CAMP 2020

FROM ART TO PARTExplore the relationship between design, product development and machining. In this three-day camp, you’ll make a custom creation from art to part! Camp begins with learning how to draw blueprints for a take-home project using a cool 3D design program. Once your design is complete, you’ll move into the machine shop where you’ll learn how to program CNC machines to create a prototype of your design.

AUTOMOTIVES FROM THE INSIDE OUTIt won’t be long before you’ll be in the driver’s seat, and this camp will teach you what you need to know to make sure your ride stays running smooth. Learn how to read diagnostic trouble codes, change air filters, assess fluids and other safety features. You’ll also discover how to tear down and repair a starter, and build and solder an electrical circuit.

HEALTH CARE HEROESBe a health care hero and help a patient go from injury to recovery. Participate in the diagnosis and treatment of a patient in a simulated medical facility. Explore medical treatments that may include emergency care, drawing blood, minor surgery and more! Experience the basics of medical care and help your patient get well and go home. Returning Health Care Heroes will be able to apply their knowledge to a new medical scenario!

SOUS CHEF ACADEMYCalling all foodies! If the kitchen is calling your name, this camp is for you. Master kitchen safety, hone your knife skills, experiment with new ingredients and, of course, try your hand at a few recipes that you’ll get to taste and take home. Bon appétit!

CONNECT WITH ITIn the information technology program, you will discover a variety of information technology related equipment and jobs. Fun and exciting times await from building a simple computer machine to programming it to complete an assortment of tasks and much, much more!

Campers can also choose to spend all 3 days in one of these two camps.

Students can attend summer camp if they are from a community served by one of these school districts: Agra, Carney, Glencoe, Guthrie, Morrison, Mulhall-Orlando, Pawnee, Perkins-Tryon, Perry or Stillwater. Students from Coyle may attend, but transportation is not provided.

Campers will be notified of their program choice, bus departure location from their area high school and pickup time a week before camp. If your camper is not riding the bus, please drop them off and pick them up under the Skywalk at Meridian. Use entrance 1.

FROM COMPUTERS TO CONSTRUCTION,MERIDIAN HAS A CAMP JUST FOR YOU!

All camps are for students entering 7 - 9th grades. Cost is $72 and includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, T-shirt, group photo and transportation. An email confirmation will be sent when registration is processed. Camp runs June 2 - 4 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

SALON STYLEAre you ready to look like you just stepped out of a salon? Sign up for this camp and learn do-it-yourself tips from industry professionals. In addition to expressing your creative side, you’ll also get a look at the science behind the style! Discover how to use simple styling tools to create today’s trends, go beyond the basics of braiding and design custom hair color. Campers will also learn how to make their nail polish look perfect!

POWER UPEnergy is all around you, but how does it work? This summer camp will explore various renewable energy sources including solar, wind and hydrogen energy. Campers will work in teams and take part in hands-on projects to understand how energy is created, converted and consumed. Sign up and prepare to get powered up!

INFINITE EXPLORATIONFrom extracting DNA to maximizing momentum and speed, connect the dots between science and engineering and the real world in this camp! It’s perfect for anyone who loves figuring out how things work, exploring new ideas and solving big challenges. Campers will work in teams and use technology to transform ideas into reality!

UNDER CONSTRUCTIONWe are going to build it – so we hope you’ll come! This camp will highlight construction, electrical technology and masonry, four industries that are at work on most building sites. Campers will work in crews and participate in hands-on construction projects like designing and laying out duct work, building a take-home woodworking project, wiring a wall, and mixing mortar and laying brick. Campers will wrap up their time at Tech racing cars that they’ll build themselves!

Campers can try a little bit of Tech with these fun options! Camp covers three days, and with this format you can choose three different areas in which to spend your time.
