IntroductionTheattachedflightplansshowasetofapproachestocollectingdataalongOIBflightlinesforthe
Summer2017Campaign.ThecampaignwillbeflownusingtheLVIS-Finstrumentmountedina
DynamicAviationB200-Tairplane.FlightlineswereprovidedbyJohnSonntagandarelineseither
flownbytheP3intheSpringCampaignorbytheFalconduringtheSummer2016Campaign.Each
notional flight followsa subsetof these linesdoableusing theDynamicB200Tairplane from
eitherThuleorKangerlussuaqairports.Notehoweverthatfinalflightplansmaydifferslightlyas
theywillbecreatedinresponsetoconditionsonthedayofflightitself.TheLVIS-Fsensor(lidar,
camerasystem)willbeflownintheairplaneatanaltitudeof28,000’.TheLVIS-Fswathsizeis1.7
kmfrom28,000’abovetheground.Thesensorwillutilize6m-diameterfootprintscontiguousin
thealongandacrosstrackdirections.Fullwaveformdatawillbecollectedforeachfootprint.
Flightprioritiesare listed inTable1,alongwith lineprioritieswithina flight if theyexist.Any
remainingdesign/infoneededforeachplanislistedinTable2.Notethatthisdocumentshows
19plannedflights,whichismorethanweexpecttofly.However,thislistofflightsgivesusthe
operationalflexibilitytoflyasmuchaspossibleonceinthefield.
