    � e musicians of St John’s parish, the Central Band of the Royal British Legion and London Mozart Players are delighted to present a series of chamber recitals to showcase the individual talent amongst the ranks.

    Including iconic pieces such as Rossini’s William Tell Overture, � e Entrance of the Gladiators by Fucik, and Maurice Jarre’s epic score to Lawrence of Arabia this is an upli� ing and energetic programme not to be missed.

    Saturday 22nd July @ 7.00pm £7*

    From Purcell’s Trumpet Tune and Air and William Walton’s Crown Imperial March, through to the soundtrack of 007 himself, this concert is a celebration of all things British, plus much much more!

    Strings, Wind, Brass, Organ and Percussion - concerts for everyone to enjoy. It will be a delight to welcome you to St John’s, Upper Norwood not only to enjoy the musical creativity of local musicians; � e London Mozart Players, � e Central Band of the Royal British Legion, European and World Famous Organists and more, but to experience the wonderful music of such talented musicians in such a beautiful and unique architectural space.

  • ‘St John’s has one of the � nest TC Lewis organs in a parish church. It was built in 1882 and restored by Harrison & Harrison Ltd in 1999. Its lo� y position in JL Pearson’s superb building and � ne acoustic makes hearing this organ an exhilarating experience.’

    Adrian Adams and Bridget West are the resident ‘Masters of Music’ overseeing the musical tradition at St John’s. � ey will play music by Howells, Guilmant, Bach, Elgar and Francis Jackson who celebrates his 100th birthday this year.

    � ursday 22nd June @ 7.30pm FREE

    Adrian Gunning is currently organist at the catholic church of St John the Evangelist, Islington. He will play works by Langlais, Buxtehude, Tournemire, Ireland and the wonderful 3rd Symphonie of Louis Vierne.

    � ursday 20th July @ 7.30pm FREE

    Geo rey Morgan is the organist at Christchurch Priory. His programme will include works by Stanley, Hollins, Bach, Par-ry and � e Overture ‘Iolanthe’ by Sullivan.

    Bach to Baby: Back by popular demand! � e UK’s exciting orchestral experience for ages 0+ returns to our home at St John the Evangelist, Upper Norwood in partnership with Bach to Baby, with an exhilarating programme of Bach, Beethoven and Brahms!

    Joined by world renowned organist � omas Trotter for a performance of Poulenc’s stunning organ concerto, the LMP are delighted to present a programme in assocation with Crystal Palace Overground Festival. Also featuring the massed voices of the Harris Academy and Crystal Palace Community Choirs (Karl Jenkins’s Adiemus) and the stunning Croydon Gospel Choir (Vivaldi’s Gloria).

    Paul Patterson’s musical arrangement of Roald Dahl’s Little Red Riding Hood takes centre stage for what promises to be a thoroughly entertaining family concert.

    Sunday 18th June @ 4.00pm £15

    Featuring BBC Young Musician of the Year 2016, Sheku Kanneh-Mason (Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C), and Mozart’s ‘Ha ner’ Symphony, this concert is set to celebrate young musical talent with students of Croydon Music and Arts sitting side-by-side with LMP musicians for a spectacular and moving performance of Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony.
