Message from Mary Lu, Executive Director These summer months concluded another successful fiscal year and launched us into what we

anticipate will be another eventful year. Some of our activities at Envision since our last newslet-

ter communication included hosting Weld County’s K9 Unit training in our offices, hosting a booth

at the Greeley Arts Picnic where artwork created by the artists in our Art Program was sold, creat-

ing our “PCT 123” video to educate the community about Person Centered tools and sending our

Envision PCT trainers to the “Portland Gathering” as part of our commitment and journey to be-

coming a Person Centered Organization.

Envision continues to monitor the progress addressing Conflict Free Case Management (CFCM) in

Colorado. The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) submitted a final plan to Colorado Gen-

eral Assembly’s Joint Budget Committee (JBC) on July 1, 2016 for review. No further updates have been received regarding

the plan and it is not expected to be reviewed by the JBC for a few more months. The plan and more information from

HCPF on this subject can be found at https://www.colorado.gov/hcpf/conflict-free-case-management. Envision will con-

tinue to provide more information to our stakeholders as this process evolves. Please do not hesitate to contact me di-

rectly to discuss your concerns or to ask questions or share information. I can be contacted at [email protected]

or (970) 313-2603.

As a reminder, legislators passed Senate Bill 16-038 that increases accountability measures promoting transparency of

Community Centered Boards. Envision is in compliance with the criteria outlined within the bill as of August 10, 2016, the

effective date of the bill. Envision currently posts many of our public documents on our website that can be easily ac-

cessed at www.envisionco.org/publicinfo. Additionally, in meeting the Bill requirements, Envision has published e-mail

addresses for all members of our Board of Directors that can be found at the bottom of this newsletter or by visiting

www.envisionco.org/boardofdirectors.

Envision has also been working diligently with local law enforcement and Weld County Adult Protection Services in imple-

menting requirements of House Bill 16-1394, Mandatory Reporting for At-Risk Adults with Intellectual and Developmental

Disabilities that became effective July 1, 2016. It has been challenging since rules and definitions vary across the three

areas of responsibility. Frequent communication is a key factor in working through each reported incident in order to

assure that people supported are safe in their living environment and in the community and that they are treated with

dignity and respect. Implementation of this law is a work in progress and one that Envision is committed to fulfilling.

Thank you for your support and contributions to our mission: To enhance the quality of life for people with intellec-

tual and developmental disabilities in Weld County.

Best regards,

Mary Lu Walton, Executive Director

Supported Employment Corner...

This quarter we are celebrat-

ing the successful employ-

ment placement for Jose here

in the heart of Greeley. Jose is

a hard worker with a great

sense of humor and friendly

personality. Jose began his job

search eagerly working with

his Supported Employment

Manager, Amy, to plan and

prepare for obtaining a community job. Jose ex-

pressed a desire and interest in working at the Rio

Grande Mexican Restaurant in downtown Greeley.

After successfully completing his application and

formal interview, Jose was offered the job! On July

9th, Jose walked into his newly acquired job with a

grin from ear to ear for his first day of work and he

couldn’t be happier! Jose has done very well learn-

ing his new job duties and he has the right supports

in place to help ensure his success. Jose is very

happy to have his new job, to be making new

friends and to enjoy the many perks of working for

The Rio like: FREE meals when working!

Way to go Jose!
