Welcome to the first annual Math and Department of English Language Learners

Summer Institute! We are sure that you will find it engaging, informative, and fun! AISD

has the best teachers around, and professional development like this will only make us

better. In the Office of Academics, we believe that collaborating and learning with our peers

strengthens our work with students. Your success as a teacher depends on your

opportunities for professional learning and growth. That's why we created this event to host

almost all of our K-12 summer professional development in one location and emphasize

best instructional practices. You'll have opportunities to explore new resources, learn new

strategies, create resources for your classroom, and explore new technology tools. We had

fun putting this together for you and would like to do it again next summer, so please let us

know how we did and how we can improve. Enjoy the Institute and have a great school

year!

throughout the year with a variety of interactive ideas on the new and tested TEKS. However, this useful document can also be built as a review during the days just prior to the STAAR assessment as well. These ready-to-use Interactive Journals can be incorporated into your daily lesson, into station activities or used as a spiral review during the year. Teachers receive an additional blackline master to take home with them.
