1. The Chief Editor of the Environmental Toxicology and Water Quality (U.S.A.)

Barney Dutka recommended him for deliberations in the Experts Workshop on the

"Toxicological Monitoring of Drinking Water in Developing Countries,” held at Ottawa,

Canada, organized by International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, in the

third week of June, 1996.

2. A Korean Scientist, Dr. Gap Soo Hwang (Ph.D.) working as an Assistant Professor at Kunsun

National University, Korea, was very much impressed with his research work on water

pollution and applied in 1996 to work in Prof. Ahmad’s laboratory as a Visiting Professor,

along with his own fellowship but our University could not provide the desired facilities.

3. Two best-rated National Dailies i.e. Times of India and Indian Express

published some of his research findings on the Ganga Water pollution in their New Delhi

editions of 20th & 23rd September, 1996 issues respectively. The research work

Rare Distinctions Achieved

1. Prof. Ahmad was the sole representative and expert from South Asia invited for

deliberations in the first Water Tox workshop organized by IDRC, Canada, held in the third

week of June, 1996, to chalk out an agenda for the toxicological monitoring of drinking

2. Worked as Co-Investigator of Department of Science and Technology, (DST) New Delhi

research project and was the sole guide in the absence of Prof. S.M. Hadi for one year on

"Cloning the structural genes of restriction end nucleases EcoRI and EcoRI" from April,

1982 to June, 1986. The recombinant clone was given to the CSIR centre for Biochemical,

New Delhi for Commercial exploitation.

3. Worked as the Co-Principal Investigator of DST research project on “Taxonomic studies on

heterodrid nematodes of northern India with reference to their molecular taxonomy", from

30. Worked as a member of the Central Ethical Committee of the University (2003-04) and

member of Ethical Committee of the Department since last seven years.

i. National Seminar on English translation of the Holy Quran” organized by the Dept.

of Islamic Studies, A.M.U. Aligarh on 19-20 October, 2001.

ii. Technical session of the 33rd International EMSI conference held at A.M.U., Aligarh

during 1-3rd January, 2008.

iii. First plenary session of the 2 day symposium on “Religions and Global Peace” held

in the Department of Theology, A.M.U, Aligarh on 8-9 January, 2008.

iv. Technical session entitled “Advances in environmental science and technology” of

the two day National symposium on 15-16 February, 2008 at Z.H College of

engineering and technology, A.M.U., Aligarh etc.

v. Third technical session of two days “Qaumi Urdu Science Congress” organized by

Anjuman Farogh-e-Science New Delhi, held at Aligarh on 20-21 February, 2016.

vi. Fourth technical session of two days International Conference on “Social and

Spritual Teachings of the Quran in Contemporary Perspective” held at K. A. Nizami

Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh on 4-5 April, 2016.

vii. Continuously chairing and contributing articles in one of the sessions of the Annual

seminars of Idara Uloomul Quran, Aligarh held at Aligarh and Delhi.

32. Member of the Advisory Committee of the International Symposium on predictive,

preventive and mechanistic mutagenesis and XXXIII Annual meeting of EMSI, held at

AMU, Aligarh on January 1-3, 2008.

33. Evaluated the M.Phil theses of the department of Islamic studies of some Universities of

India especially on the topics related with Environmental issues. The Ministry of Islamic

Affairs, Kuwait, also invited me as special guest in the conference held in November 2006

on Scientificity of Quran and Hadith.

34. Acted as an expert for the selection of Project Fellows/JRF/SRF/RA/Guest Faculty/Assistant

Professor/Associate Professor/Professor in various Research and Academic Institutions of

India.

35. Published nine books, edited two books and more than two dozen articles on various aspects

of science, philosophy, religion, Al-Quran etc. in addition to the publications in the

professional subject areas i.e. related to biochemistry, molecular biology, environmental

toxicology, vaccine development and nematology.

36. Worked as member of the discipline committee of A.M.U., Aligarh for one term of May-July,

2011 and also worked for another term Feb-April, 2012.

37. Worked as a member of the Executive Council of A.M.U., Aligarh since 29th Jan 2012 till

Nov 14th 2012.

38. Member of high power grievance committee of A.M.U. since Feb 2012.

39. Worked as acting Vice-Chancellor for 5 days in the absence of regular Vice-Chancellor during

the period of 1st Sep to 14th Nov 2012.

40. Working as nominated member of the governing bodies of Idara Tahqiqat-e-Islami, Aligarh

and Idara Uloomul Quran, Aligarh.
