Instruction of PU adhesive

PU adhesive is water clear, viscous liquid of brushing viscosity Polyurethane adhesive for footwear industry. Following substrates in footwear industry can be bonded with HN-868HK:• PVC Soles • PU Soles • TPR Soles • EVA Surfaces • Vulcanized resin/ micro cellular rubber

Page 2: Summary

SURFACE PREPARATION • Ensure that surface is properly treated for making it free from oil, dust etc.• For leather roughen to remove the grain layer up to feather edge.• PVC (Synthetic) surfaces should be lightly roughed up and cleaned with MEK or clea

ner.• PU Patent Leather should be roughed up to remove PU film and leather grain to withi

n 3 mm edge of sole. • Fabric: Natural fabric does not require any treatment while certain synthetic fabric req

uire. • Leather: Roughen to remove loose grain.• PVC: Solvent wipe MEK. Change wiping cloth after every 5-7 pairs to avoid contamin

ation. Allow to dry for 5~7 minutes at room temperature.• Vulcanised Resin/ Micro cellular Rubber: Roughen and then halogenate with primer.

Allow to dry for 5~7 minutes at room temperature.• TPR: Halogenate with TPR primer. Allow to dry for 5~7 minutes at room temperature..• Polyurethane Cellular: Light roughening and solvent wipe with MEK. Two wipes reco

mmended with 5 minute gap.• EVA: Roughen and then give a primer coat with EVA Primer. Allow to dry for 5~7 min

utes at room temperature.

TPRTPR primer

TPR primer : colorless transparent liquid, strong penetration, can increase the bonding strength of glue with the TPR materials. Suit for treating pinguid or pure TPR material.

1.We have to treat the surface with primer before bush adhesive.

2.Brush glue must be after the primer completely dry.

3. Allow 5 to 7 minutes for drying before applying polyurethane adhesive coat on soles, or you can put them into the oven 2 to 3mins and must controlled in 55~65°C. The primed surfaces should be protected from dust.

PVC209P

PU, PVC primer: colorless transparent liquid. Especial PU leather cloth, PVC, dry quickly.1.We have to treat the surface with primer before bush adhesive.2.Brush glue must be after the primer completely dry.

3. Allow 5 to 10 minutes for drying before applying polyurethane adhesive coat on soles, or you can put them into the oven 2 to 3mins and must controlled in 55~65°C. The primed surfaces should be protected from dust.

306P PU sole

PU out sole primer: colorless transparent liquid, can treat most of PU material.1.We have to treat the surface with primer before bush adhesive.2.Brush glue must be after the primer completely dry.3. Allow 5 to 10 minutes for drying before applying polyurethane adhesive coat on soles, or you can put them into the oven 2 to 3mins and must controlled in 55~65°C. The primed surfaces should be protected from dust.

EVA/Rubber Primer

Rubber primer is compose of colorless transparent liquid and white powder.

226A+B is a liquid used together with 3% power. For roughed surface treating of rubber in order to improve the strength of pu adhesive to rubber.

236E EVA primer is a colorless transparent liquid. • 1.Rubber and EVA must be rough uniformity.• 2.Brush glue must be after the primer completely dry.• 3. Allow 5 to 10 minutes for drying before applying polyur

ethane adhesive coat on soles, or you can put them into the oven 2 to 3mins and must controlled in 55~65 . The ℃primed surfaces should be protected from dust.

METHOD Of USE• Apply thoroughly mixed adhesive and hardener (ration of 100 : 3 by weight) on upper as well as on

sole by brush. • Allow minimum drying time of 5 – 10 minutes at room temperature, some extra drying time for sole

is advantageous. The time for this evaporation will depend on the temperature and humidity. • Give heat activation time of 6~8mins under oven at a temperature of 65-75 degrees Celsius. • Spot the upper and sole and bond them together within 5mins(assembly time) under appropriate

pressure in a sole attaching press. • Chill the bonded unit to cool the glue line. Delast only when the unit is cooled to room temperature. • Remove the excess adhesive carefully within one hour of pasting/ bonding, using crepe rubber roll. • Allow bonded surfaces to cure for 24 hours (curing time).

Hardner: In order to improve to the Heat-resistant.

Page 8: Summary

Instruction of Hardener• Hardener is a suitable crosslinker for adhesive base on polyurethane, natural rubber or synthetic

rubber. It’s specially useful for crosslinking pale-colored adhesive used to bond rubber-based materials. Hardener is used where particularly high demands are made on the durability and strength of the bonds.

• Uses:• The HN-RFE, HN- RC and HN- RN are on account of their outstanding adhesion promotion, use

d for bonding a wide variety of different sole materials such as PVC, rubber, EVA and leather. For bonding light-colored materials, it is advisable to use HN- RC and particularly HN- RN. HN- RFE is especially recommended where the bonds are exposed to considerable forces and stresses or heat immediately after application.

• Thoroughly mix polyurethane adhesive and hardener (ration of 100 : 3 by weight).• Advantages of hardener: • significantly raise the softening point of the adhesive film • improve the resistance of the crosslinked film to solvents, plasticizers, oils and grease • improve the resistance to chemical degradation and hydrolysis • Attention:• After adding hardener to a polyurethane or rubber-base adhesive, the ready-to-use two-compone

nt mixture must be used within it’s pot life. Pot life is not only governed by the polymer content of the adhesive but also by its other components (resins, antioxidants, platicizers, solvents, etc.). At the end of pot life, which can vary from several hours to one working day, the adhesive becomes increasing difficult to process and its viscosity increases rapidly. Finally, irreversible gelling occurs.

• The Pot life will affect by humidity and temperature. So you have to keep the mixture liquid in a plate with small mouth or cover with tinfoil when you used.

METHOD Of USE SBS SPRAY ADHESIVE

HN-87HK is a Benzene-free and environmental friendly contact adhesive is mainly made from SBS (Stryrene-Butadiene-Stryrene). They are individually designed to meet critical demands of specific applications like foam to foam, upholstery to foam, bonding decorative laminates, etc in seat manufacturing, furniture, automobile upholstery, door trimming and carpeting industries.

• 1. Applicable to double- face spray, lay it for 2 to 3 minutes (or when it's not sticky to hand), bond together with pressure.

• 2. Spray area about 12-15 squire meter per kg.• 3. Spray evenly, no accumulation or lack of gel.• 4. Lance air pressure should be kept between 6-8kg• 5. Appropriate bonding pressure, so as to ensure better effect.• 6. Initial bonding strength can be test after 15 minutes.
