SECTION 210000/220000/230000 - GENERAL PROVISIONS
THE DRAWINGS, GENERAL NOTES, THE GENERAL CONDITIONS AND DIVISION ONE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

FORWARDING TO ARCHITECT/ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL. SUBMITTALS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
GENERAL CONDITIONS AND SHALL BEAR A STAMP OF THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHOWING THAT HE
REVIEWED AND APPROVED THEM. LACK OF SUCH CONTRACTORS'S APPROVAL WILL BE CAUSE FOR
REJECTION WITHOUT REVIEW BY THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER.
SUBSTITUTION OF EQUIPMENT MAY BE PERMITTED WITH PRIOR APPROVAL OF ARCHITECT/ENGINEER
THROUGH OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER SHALL BE THE SOLE AND FINAL JUDGE AS
TO THE SUITABILITY OF ITEMS SUBSTITUTED FOR THOSE SPECIFIED. THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL CHANGES DO
TO SUBSTITUTION SHALL BE BORNE BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
PAINTING, IF REQUIRED, SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH AND COMPLETED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
PROVIDE ACCESS DOORS FOR ALL DEVICES REQUIRING INSPECTION OR MAINTENANCE. MINIMUM SIZE SHALL
BE 12" x 12".
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL RECORD ALL FIELD CHANGES IN HIS WORK AS JOB PROGRESSES, AND
UPON COMPLETION SHALL TURNOVER TO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER A “RECORD” SET OF PRINTS SHOWING
THESE CHANGES.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GUARANTEE THAT ALL MECHANICAL SYSTEMS SHALL BE FREE FROM DEFECTS IN
WORKMANSHIP, MATERIALS AND PERFORMANCE TO SPECIFIED CAPACITIES AND THAT IF SUCH DEFECTS
SHALL APPEAR DURING A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM DATE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE, THEY WILL REMEDY
SUCH DEFECTS TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ARCHITECT-ENGINEER AT NO EXTRA COST TO THE OWNER
WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME.
FURNISH THREE (3) COPIES OF THE OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL TO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER
AFTER ALL TESTS AND ADJUSTMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE. FINAL PAYMENT WILL NOT BE MADE UNTIL THIS
MANUAL HAS BEEN APPROVED AND DELIVERED TO THE OWNER. THE MANUAL SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE

SECTION 211313 - SPRINKLER SYSTEM
MODIFY EXISTING SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND HEAD LOCATIONS TO ACCOMMODATE NEW PARTITIONS, SOFFITS,
DROPS, CEILING TYPES AND HEIGHTS, ETC.
COMPLY WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND AUTHORITIES HAVING
JURISDICTION OVER THE PREMISES. DESIGN AND INSTALLATION SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA #13 AND ALL

FIRESTOPPING IS DEFINED HEREIN AS THE PROCESS OF FURNISHING AND INSTALLING MATERIAL, OR
COMBINATION OF MATERIALS, IN VARIOUS CONSTRUCTION TO MAINTAIN AN EFFECTIVE BARRIER AGAINST THE
SPREAD OF FLAME, SMOKE, AND GASES AND TO RETAIN THE INTEGRITY OF TIME-RATED CONSTRUCTION.

ALL COPPER PIPING SHALL BE HUNG WITH ADJUSTABLE SWIVEL RING, COPPER PLATED HANGERS FOR

PROVIDE HANGER RODS OF THE PROPER LENGTH AND SIZE FOR ALL HANGERS.

BOLTS, EXPANSION BOLTS OR TOGGLE BOLTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH WALL MATERIAL AND AS REQUIRED TO

EVERY ROTATING AND RECIPROCATING ITEM OF EQUIPMENT, THEIR COMPONENTS AND MATERIALS USED FOR

ELECTRICAL FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT THAT WILL BE RE-USED OR RE-INSTALLED SHALL BE CAREFULLY REMOVED ASNOT TO DAMAGE THE EQUIPMENT OR FIXTURE ANDPROTECTED FROM DAMAGE UNTIL READY FOR RE-INSTALLATION. GENERAL SHEET NOTES
REFER TO THE ARCHITECTURAL REFLECTED CEILING PLANS (RCP) FOR THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL LIGHT FIXTURES. THE RCP SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THELIGHTING PLAN IF THERE ARE ANY DISCREPANCIES. COORDINATE LIGHT FIXTURE LAYOUT WITH HVAC/DUCTWORK/DIFFUSERS.
COORDINATE THE MOUNTING HEIGHT OF ALL LIGHT FIXTURES WITH THE ARCHITECTURAL PLANS, ELEVATION OR ARCHITECT PRIOR TO ROUGH-IN.
PROVIDE ALL ACCESSORIES INCLUDING TRIM RINGS, STEMS, CANOPIES, CORDS, MOUNTING HARDWARE, RESTRAINTS, HURRICANE CLIPS, ETC., NECESSARY TO MOUNTTHE LIGHT FIXTURE IN A COMPLETE, PROPER, AND APPROVED METHOD.
PROVIDE A DISCONNECTING MEANS THAT OPENS ALL SUPPLY CONDUCTORS TO ANY BALLAST SERVING FLUORESCENT LIGHT FIXTURES THAT UTILIZE DOUBLE-ENDEDLAMPS AND THAT CAN BE SERVICED IN PLACE. THE DISCONNECTING MEANS SHALL ALSO OPEN THE NEUTRAL CONDUCTOR TO THE BALLAST WHEN THE LUMINAIRE ISSERVED BY A MULTI-WIRE BRANCH CIRCUIT.
SUPPORT ALL LUMINAIRES COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT OF ANY SUSPENDED CEILING.
ALL EXIT SIGNS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH INTEGRAL EMERGENCY BACKUP BATTERIES THAT PROVIDE A MINIMUM 90 MINUTES OF RUN TIME. CIRCUIT EXIT SIGNS TOUNSWITCHED EMERGENCY CIRCUIT UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED.
COORDINATE MOUNTING LOCATION, NUMBER OF FACES AND DIRECTIONAL ARROWS OF EXIT SIGNS AS REQUIRED TO MARK PATHS OF EGRESS TO THE SATISFACTIONOF THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.
EACH EMERGENCY FIXTURE SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A FACTORY-INSTALLED OR FIELD-INSTALLED EMERGENCY BATTERY THAT PROVIDES A MINIMUM OF 90 MINUTESOF RUN TIME.
LOCATE OCCUPANCY SENSORS A MINIMUM OF 4-6 FEET FROM MECHANICAL DIFFUSER. COORDINATE LOCATION WITH OCCUPANCY SENSOR MANUFACTURER TOPROVIDE ADEQUATE COVERAGE.
WALL MOUNTED SENSOR SWITCHES SHALL BE SET TO MANUAL ON.
PROVIDE UNIVERSAL VOLTAGE BALLASTS FOR ALL FLUORESCENT FIXTURES. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE AVAILABLE VOLTAGE WITH THE LIGHT FIXTURES PRIORTO ORDERING AND SUBMITTING SHOP DRAWINGS.
EMERGENCY BATTERIES FOR LINEAR FLUORESCENT AND/OR LONG COMPACT FLUORESCENT LAMPS SHALL BE RATED AT A MINIMUM OF 1400 LUMENS. THE EMERGENCYBATTERY SHALL POWER TWO LAMPS WHERE THE ASSOCIATED LIGHT FIXTURE IS EQUIPPED WITH MORE THAN ONE LAMP.

CONTRACTOR SHALL PAY A SHOP DRAWING REVIEW FEE OF $100.00, TO THE ENGINEER, FOR EACH SHOP DRAWING REVIEW AFTER TWO REVIEWS THATARE MARKED "RETURNED FOR CORRECTIONS" BY THE ENGINEER.
SUBSTITUTIONS
THE ENGINEER SHALL BE THE SOLE AND FINAL JUDGE AS TO THE SUITABILITY OF ITEMS SUBSTITUTED FOR THOSE SPECIFIED. ALTERNATEEQUIVALENT SUBSTITUTIONS SHALL BE REVIEWED BY THE ENGINEER DURING THE SUBMITTAL OF SHOP DRAWINGS. PRIOR APPROVAL REQUESTS FORSUBSTITUTIONS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.
THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL CHANGES OF ANY TYPE DUE TO SUBSTITUTIONS FOR MATERIALS SPECIFIED SHALL BE BORNE BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NOEXTRA COST TO THE OWNER AND SHALL REIMBURSE OTHER TRADES OF ADDITIONAL COST DUE TO SUBSTITUTION.
DOCUMENT EACH REQUEST WITH COMPLETE DATA SUBSTANTIATING COMPLIANCE OF PROPOSED SUBSTITUTION WITH CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.

DIMENSIONS AND LAYOUTS
THE DRAWINGS ARE SCHEMATIC IN NATURE, BUT SHOW THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEMS APPROXIMATELY TO SCALE AND ATTEMPT TOINDICATE HOW THEY ARE TO BE INTEGRATED WITH OTHER PARTS OF THE BUILDING. FIGURED DIMENSIONS SHALL BE TAKEN IN PREFERENCE TO SCALEDIMENSIONS. DETERMINE EXACT LOCATIONS BY JOB MEASUREMENTS, BY CHECKING THE REQUIREMENTS OF OTHER TRADES, AND BY REVIEWING ALLCONTRACT DOCUMENTS. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY PROPER CHECKING ANDINSPECTION.
ORDINANCES AND CODES
CONTRACTOR'S PERFORMANCE, WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION CODES, STATE ANDLOCAL BUILDING CODES, AND/OR ALL OTHER APPLICABLE CODES AND ORDINANCES. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS OFPUBLIC UTILITIES AND MUNICIPAL DEPARTMENTS AFFECTED BY CONNECTION OF SERVICES. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS,LICENSES, FEES AND INSPECTIONS REQUIRED FOR THE WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE HELDRESPONSIBLE FOR ANY VIOLATION OF THE LAW. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL NECESSARY SIGNAL LIGHTS AND GUARDS FOR THE SAFETY OF THEPUBLIC.
ADJUSTING, ALIGNING AND TESTING
ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT ON THIS PROJECT FURNISHED UNDER THIS DIVISION AND ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT FURNISHED BY OTHERS SHALL BEADJUSTED, ALIGNED AND TESTED FOR PROPER OPERATION BY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR. COMPLETE WIRING SYSTEMS SHALL BE FREE FROMSHORT CIRCUITS. ALL MOTORS SHALL BE VERIFIED FOR PROPER ROTATION.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ON THE PROJECT PREMISES THE FOLLOWING AT ALL TIMES: A TRUE RMS READING VOLTMETER, A TRUE RMSREADING AMMETER, AND A MEGGER INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEST DATA RATINGS AS REQUESTED OR ASREQUIRED.
CUTTING AND PATCHING
THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL DO ALL CUTTING OF WALLS, FLOORS, CEILINGS, ETC. AS REQUIRED TO INSTALL WORK UNDER THIS SECTION. CONTRACTORSHALL OBTAIN PERMISSION OF THE ARCHITECT BEFORE DOING ANY CUTTING. ALL HOLES SHALL BE CUT AS SMALL AS POSSIBLE. CONTRACTOR SHALLPATCH WALLS, FLOORS, ETC. AS REQUIRED BY WORK UNDER THIS SECTION. ALL PATCHING SHALL BE THOROUGHLY FIRST CLASS AND SHALL MATCHTHE ORIGINAL MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION.
COORDINATE WITHOUT DELAY ALL ROUGHING-IN WITH GENERAL CONSTRUCTION. ALL CONDUIT ROUGH-IN SHALL BE CONCEALED EXCEPT INUNFINISHED AREAS AND WHERE OTHERWISE SHOWN.
GUARANTEE
GUARANTEE AGAINST DEFECTIVE WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIAL FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF WRITTEN FINAL ACCEPTANCE.GUARANTEE SHALL INCLUDE MATERIAL TO BE REPLACED AND ALL LABOR REQUIRED.
FIRESTOPPING OF FLOOR AND WALL PENETRATIONS
THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL SEAL ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH FIRE RATED FLOOR AND WALL ASSEMBLIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA CODES AND ULWALL CONSTRUCTION TYPES. THE SEALING SYSTEM MUST BE CAPABLE OF PASSING A THREE HOUR TEST, PER ASTM E-814 (UL 1479). PENETRATIONSEALING SYSTEM SHALL BE, AT A MINIMUM, 3M BRAND 7904 (CP-25 CAULK, OR 303 PUTTY), OR APPROVED EQUAL, AND SHALL BE INSTALLED INACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
FLASHING AND PITCH POCKETS
FLASH AND COUNTERFLASH ALL OPENINGS THROUGH ROOF, AND/OR PROVIDE PITCH POCKETS AS REQUIRED. ALL ROOF PENETRATIONS SHALL BE LEAKTIGHT AT THE TERMINATION OF THE WORK.
SECTION 262416 - PANELBOARDS
THE ELECTRICAL PANEL AND DISTRIBUTION ARE EXISTING. PROVIDE NEW CIRCUIT BREAKERS THAT ARE COMPATIBLE WITH AND OF THE SAMEMANUFACTURER OF THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL PANEL.
MOLDED CASE CIRCUIT BREAKERS: NEMA AB 1, BOLT-ON TYPE THERMAL MAGNETIC TRIP CIRCUIT BREAKERS, WITH COMMON TRIP HANDLE FOR ALLPOLES, LISTED AS TYPE SWD FOR LIGHTING CIRCUITS, TYPE HACR FOR AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT CIRCUITS, CLASS A GROUND FAULTINTERRUPTER CIRCUIT BREAKERS WHERE SCHEDULED. DO NOT USE TANDEM CIRCUIT BREAKERS.
INSTALLATION
PROVIDE FILLER PLATES FOR UNUSED SPACES IN PANELBOARDS.
PROVIDE TYPED CIRCUIT DIRECTORY FOR EACH BRANCH CIRCUIT PANELBOARD. REVISE DIRECTORY TO REFLECT CIRCUITING CHANGES REQUIRED TOBALANCE PHASE LOADS. CIRCUIT DIRECTORY SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO ENGINEER FOR REVIEW PRIOR TO FINAL PHASE BALANCING.
PROVIDE ENGRAVED PLASTIC NAMEPLATES.
GROUND AND BOND PANELBOARD ENCLOSURE ACCORDING TO NEC.
MEASURE STEADY STATE LOAD CURRENTS AT EACH PANELBOARD FEEDER; REARRANGE CIRCUITS IN THE PANELBOARD TO BALANCE THE PHASELOADS TO WITHIN 20 PERCENT OF EACH OTHER. MAINTAIN PROPER PHASING FOR MULTI-WIRE BRANCH CIRCUITS. SUBMIT MEASURED INITIAL LOADCURRENT FOR EACH PHASE TO ENGINEER FOR REVIEW PRIOR TO COMPLETING FINAL BALANCING FOR EACH PANELBOARD.
SECTION 262726 - WIRING DEVICES
FURNISH AND INSTALL THE FOLLOWING OUTLETS AND SWITCHES WHERE SHOWN OR REQUIRED. MINOR CHANGES RELATIVE TO THE LOCATION OFELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MAY BE MADE BY THIS CONTRACTOR TO COMPLY WITH STRUCTURAL AND BUILDING REQUIREMENTS AS DETERMINED IN THECOURSE OF CONSTRUCTION. ALL OUTLETS AND SWITCHES MUST BE OF THE SAME MANUFACTURER AND NOT MIXED ON THE PROJECT. COLOR OFTOGGLES AND RECEPTACLES SHALL BE GREY.
