Suggestions on how to play Jeopardy:

I usually play Jeopardy by giving each student a small whiteboard, marker and eraser to ensure that all students are actively involved in playing.

Before playing: Place students in small teams of 3-5 students and allow teams to

create team names. Record the team names on the board and keep track of their

scores throughout the game here.

Playing Jeopardy: Choose a team to pick the first category and dollar amount. Every team has an opportunity to answer each question and earn

the dollar amount. It is not a race. After a designated amount of time ask all

students in the room to hold up their whiteboards with their answers.

Rotate around the room allowing different teams to choose the category and dollar amounts.

Awarding Points: If all team members have the appropriate work and correct

answer, the team can be awarded points. If a team does not have the correct work and answer, no points

are awarded. Optional: Depending on the class, sometimes the game can be

played so that correct answers gain points and incorrect answers lose points.

Daily Double: The Daily Double allows students to earn double the points if

they answer a question correctly.

Final Jeopardy: After seeing the Final Jeopardy category, but before seeing the

question, teams must decide how much they want to wager. If a team gets the correct work and answer for the Final Jeopardy question they gain all that they wagered, but if a team is incorrect they will lose all that they wagered.

Final Jeopardy is a nice way to give all teams a chance to get back in the game and possibly win at the conclusion of the game.
