Wheelchair accessible. Sue Boyd - Painter Sue graduated from the South Australian School of Arts (SASA) at the University of South Australia. She was awarded the prestigious Harry P Gill Medal presented annually to the student with the highest grades in the field of visual arts and design over the four year course. After graduation, Sue taught graphic design at the SASA as well as working as a freelance designer for a number of advertising agencies. Sue has been developing a free style of mixed media which she has used to explore the Noosa rivers and hinterland. She uses paints, cardboard, timber, feathers and other media to create these works. The style displays a passion for painting and exploring new techniques. Sue has exhibited her work in Sydney, Noosa and Maui, Hawaii and completed a number of commissions in these locations. Sue’s extensive travels have inspired and influenced her art. Beside her love of painting, she has explored 3D sculptures in timber and metal, ceramics and encaustic painting. Sue’s studio is a purpose built stand-alone structure. It features large windows which can be completely opened to allow in natural light. The studio overlooks her swimming pool and garden. It is full of her creations, reference objects and art books.
