HMCS Mackenzie - purposefully scuttled to make an artificial reef. The boat was in service of the Royal Canadian Military, serving for over 40 years. Artificial reefs help create an environment for dying biologicial entities underwater. MV G.B. Church - the first ship to be purposefully scuttled for creation of an artificial reef. It was once used as a supply ship in WWII, though now its used as a macro-environment for thousands of species USS Bunker Hill - A tanker ship that unexpectedly exploded in 1964 as it carried thousands of gallons of fuel through Rosario Strait, a busy shipping lane. 5 of the 43 crewmen died.Other Shipwrecks shown on map have had little documentation and were reported from maps dating back to over a hundred years ago. Most likely from ships in the discovery days of Straits.
