Primary 1 had their debut on the Fox Covert Primary stage

last week when they performed “It’s a party”. What a debut

it was! They sang, danced and acted with such confidence

and even managed to get the audience on their feet and

dancing. Well done Primary 1!

P2 & P3 Nativity

We were treated to another splendid Nativity performance by

Primary 2 and Primary 3 who performed “Christmas with the

story in a fun and humorous way, showcasing their talents in

acting, singing and dancing. Well done Primary 3!

Hour of Code

Primary 6 and 7 pupils recently enjoyed a visit to Craigmount High School where

they took part in the Hour of Code. The principle beyond the Hour of Code is to

encourage pupils to become interested in Computer Science and inspire them to

keep learning. The code.org website is a good source of information and one

that other pupils may wish to try. Coding activities relating to Minecraft,

Frozen and Star Wars can be accessed at the moment.

Sumdog Holiday Competition: Congratulations to Kian Grant (P7) who was

successful in making the top 50 student’s leaderboard in the sumdog holiday

competition in 7th place. (Apologies to Kian for omitting him from last week’s

bulletin).

Pantomime

The whole school enjoyed a visit by Hopscotch Theatre who put on a fantastic

performance of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Eco Assessment

We recently had our joint Eco assessment with Fox Covert RC and are delighted

to report that we have been awarded our 3rd Green Flag. We have now received

our report from Eco-Schools Scotland and would like to share some of the good

practice which has been highlighted:

A warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere

Have maintained excellent progress since your last assessment

Working hard as an effective unit to promote environmental action within

your neighbourhood

Have thoroughly integrated the Eco-Schools programme into the

curriculum

Have taken the children’s learning out with the campus

through your work with the Council and local

environmental groups

Shared good practice with other schools

Have worked hard to develop your grounds as a

wonderful resource for learning and recreation, and a

haven for wildlife

Your pupils are truly responsible, global citizens

Goodbye to Mrs Gorrie

We are sad to be saying farewell to Mrs Gorrie on Tuesday when

she will leave us to take up a new post as Depute Head Teacher

at Victoria Primary School. Mrs Gorrie has worked at Fox Covert

for the past ten years where she has carried out many different

roles and has been a strong support for many pupils and their

families, and staff. We would like to thank Mrs Gorrie for all of

her hard work and commitment in the time she has been in Fox Covert and wish

her all the very best in her exciting new role. Goodbye and Good Luck!

A final reminder that school will close to all pupils at 12 noon on Tuesday 22nd

December. We hope that everyone has a lovely Christmas and a great start to

2016! We look forward to welcoming all of our pupils back to school on

Thursday 7th January.
