Our Students took part in the
International Public Speaking Competition
The local, county and regional heats took place in January, February and March. General Info for the 2016 Public Speaking Competition. Participants must write and deliver a speech, the title and content of which are connected with the theme for the competition. Participants may interpret the theme in any way they wish, but may not use the theme as the title of their speech. This year’s theme for national competitions is “Integrity has no need of rules” and may be used by competition organisers for their national public speaking competitions. This year’s heats theme for the international competition is “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any”.

We’ve also been setting up the Project Website, where info is to be
uploaded all throughout the 2 years of project…
….and we’ve put some thoughts on paper:
Bacanu Maria I can say that this project is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, to learn new
things and, not finally, to develop numerous skills. I have met great students, parents and
teachers, who actually turned to be good friends. I got the
chance to see how different people from different countries
broke through language barriers and succeeded in
communicating. Even though, they belong to different cultures,
they will do their best in order to achieve the main aim of the
project – successful communication. Last but not least, I
encourage you ALL to take part in the Erasmus+ Partnership
‘Successful Communication-The Future of Europe’.

Beciu Alexandru All these experiences are priceless! This Erasmus has been
very important for me because I was in touch with
foreigners.Everyone was carrying their own story! I have
to say that the time spent in Poland flew too fast. I wish I
had done more to improve my English skills, however I
learned something very important, you shouldn't avoid
speaking to foreigners just because you don't speak the
language so well.Learning with friends will improve your
Erasmus exchange the most. Overall it was a pleasure for me to take part in this project!
Dascalu Andreea 1.The project meant for me a way of tasting a different culture at its finest. 2.The project helped me meet new people from another culture, speaking another language, yet being extremely similar to me. 3.The project showed me exactly how Polish life is, by experiencing it in a host family. 4. The project was an incredible opportunity for me to travel and see beautiful places. 5.The project showed me that you can get attached to people and places extremely quick, simply by making the most out of this opportunity.
Duna Maria Bianca For me, the Erasmus+ Project presented me with the opportunity
of meeting new people of completely different culture and beliefs.
However, I felt surprised when I found out how many things
Bartosz, my Polish host, and I have in common. Now, I can not
refrain myself from showing a wide smile when thinking of my
time spent there. Who would not like being taken care of for a
whole week? I got the chance of trying plenty of new things which I
would not do before - therefore, I advise everyone to write their
names down for such a self-developing project.

Gheorghe Bianca For me, the Erasmus+ Project "Successful Communication - The
Future of Europe" was a fortunate series of firsts. It was the first
time visiting Poland, staying at a host family, going in an art studio
and learning about this type of communication, singing "Happy
birthday" in Polish and many more. And this made me realise it's
worth taking part in this project not only for the short-term effects,
such as the Erasmus vibe you get throughout the mobility. It's
about making connections, having a second family to rely on (and,
thanks to my host, Natalia, I got to have one of the best families),
finding yourself in a different place and having the time of your life.
I believe we achieved the project's main purpose - to establish a
successful communication with young people around the Europe -
and I truly hope that everyone will eventually get to go through the same wonderful
experience that is Erasmus+, too.
Plasoianu Rares Since the Erasmus+ project wasn't my first experience as a guest in
a host family while travelling abroad, I was expecting it to be
outstanding, but all the people involved in this activity took it to a
whole new level. Not only did we enjoy the company of well-
trained teachers but we also spent some quality time with our host
family members, for whom I have nothing but words of praise.
They made me fell at home and Bart became my brother from
Poland. I am really looking forward to their coming to Romania and I hope I will be able to
treat them at least as well as they treated me and I also hope to offer our friends a unique
and a one of a kind impression they will never forget after visiting Romania.
Toader Marian Above all, the project was a cultural experience for me. I had the
chance to come into direct contact with another country, its
language, its people and their customs. I am more than grateful
for this opportunity, for I am sure that, in the globalised world of
the 21st century, it will prove to be a great advantage for a soon-
to-be international student. My host family, the Konarskis,
greeted me with nothing but kindness and, during my whole stay

in Lodz, made me feel like at home. They showed great thoughtfulness and their youngest
son, Mikolaj, my partner in this project, was equally attentive. We got along instantly, had
great times during the project and exchanged gifts by the end of it all. We still keep in touch
online, until we see each other again.

MAGIC TRIANGLE – MEETING IN POLAND
On the 3rd of March our project team – students, parents and teachers met to sum up the 6
months of implementation of our project. During the meeting we also discussed activities
scheduled for the upcoming months.

THE FLAVORS OF RUSSIAN CUISINE
The bilingual Polish-Russian classes of our junior high school often take part in events
connected with the Russian culture. On the 3rd of February our students, their parents
and teachers had a chance to taste a lovely Russian meal in a restaurant called “
TEREMOK “. The meal was accompanied by Russian music and songs which were sung
by students and our teacher.

WOMEN’S DAY IN OUR SCHOOL
On the 8th of March in Poland we celebrate the Women’s Day. This year in our school we
organized a music concert for the female part of our school society. We also invited
women from the local folk club.
………………………………………………………………………………………………
THE FILM NIGHT
On the 11th of March our students had a great opportunity to take part in the film
marathon. The participants watched movies all night long. The most popular were
horror movies but the biggest attraction turned out to be just spending the night at
school with the people they like.

STAGE and TRAINING
" G. De Nittis " high school organizes every
year some projects that involves all the
classes of the school. " Grafica in corso" is
one of them. This project is now at its 13th
edition and it is particularly addressed to
students attending the third and fourth year
of a graphic design course . The school
usually organizes a kind of partnership
with graphic design companies which give
to the students the possibility to do an
apprenticeship for a short period of time.
This project lasts two years and its aim is
to improve students’ specific skills and to
get them in touch with the world of work.

DIGITAL IDENTITY:
Every year our school, I.I.S.S. De Nittis Pascali, chooses a topic on which every class
works on. This year the topic "Digital Identity" has been chosen: it consists on exploring
and showing to everybody how we can relate to the internet, to social networks and to
every mean of communication that includes the net.
During the last months of school (usually in May) a wonderful event called "Day of Arts"
usually takes place. It is organized so that we can show what we are able to create
concerning the topic chosen and contests (our school participates to a lot of them), so
everybody gets to know what others do... isn't it great?

FESTA DEI POPOLI
The school every year takes
part in a local contest for a
national event called "Festa
dei Popoli".
It usually lasts three days and
takes places in May or June ;
the main Italian cities are
involved even if each of them
has its own NGO independent
organization.
The aim of the event is to arrange a meeting place for cultures and traditions of different
countries in order to give rise to a language useful for building a new multicultural
society.
Most of the Graphic Design students are involved in creating a poster that better
embodies the spirit of the event.
