A ritual I have maintained for more than a decade is annually attending the Saturday evening performance of the Prescott (AZ) Frontier Days Rodeo with my grandsons. The event is always held during the week leading up to the Fourth of July and to me is a slice of true Americana.

One of the reasons I attend is to help my grandsons incorporate into their lives the tradition of patriotism and gratitude for all that we enjoy as residents of this great nation. The rodeo organizers are unapologetic for its demonstration of pride in America and who we are as a people. There is much flag-waving and commentary during the performances about this great land of ours, and I find it refreshing.

How blessed we are to be living in this nation at this time in history. America’s population comprises less than 5% of the world’s population, yet our nation produces more than 20% of the world’s Gross Domestic Product. We are the most generous people on Earth and our nation is prosperous beyond expectation. Never have opportunities been so great. We are each free to build our lives and businesses as we see fit. Look around at all the success stories in our group of Regional Directors, Managers, and Agents who have established and built their independent agencies over the past several decades. We appreciate the confidence and loyalty you have demonstrated toward the company over the years.

I realize there are serious challenges our nation must soon address, but even considering any shortcomings of our nation and its people, America is — and will remain — the finest nation on Earth. With all of the opportunities and benefits we enjoy, it is incumbent upon each of us to make the most of those opportunities. It is also important to expose younger generations to our common heritage and the many advantages we enjoy as Americans.

We couldn’t do what we do without your hard work and dedication in the field, and we wanted to share a letter with you each month to illustrate how our partnership with you benefits the families and

loved ones of our clients in their time of need.

Thank you for your prayers. I am very pleased with the way Lincoln Heritage handled the life insurance claim for my late wife, _______. Your quick response to the funeral home made a much difficult time for me less stressful. I was able to bury my late wife within 4 days after her passing.

Lincoln Heritage has always been committed to protecting our customers’ private and sensitive information from unauthorized use. While most of the following information may be considered common sense, it’s also extremely important information.

Lincoln Heritage has systems in place to protect and prevent cybersecurity incidents, and we have established measures to protect our home office and computer servers. We take extreme care to make sure all sensitive paper documents are shredded or destroyed after use. Even with all these precautions, you are still one of our first lines of defense in this fight. Anything we do to prevent unauthorized use of our customers’ private information is ineffective without your full cooperation.

Applications or bank authorization forms completed by our customers need to be protected in every way possible. We advise you to keep applications and bank information with you or in your vehicle only for the short period of time that it would take to submit them to our office for processing. Never write down a credit or debit card number; only write down the sequence number needed for processing. After submission, we strongly recommend that you store the copy you keep for your records either in a locked cabinet in your home or office or in a password-protected digital file.

State insurance departments started reviewing privacy laws in 2005 to better protect the consumer, and compromising a customer’s privacy can now result in fines plus the cost of repairing the customer’s identity. It is our mutual responsibility as well to take measures to protect our customers’ private and sensitive information from unauthorized use.

If you become aware that confidential information has been compromised, it is your obligation to contact the home office immediately so that we can take the required legal steps to remedy the situation.

GROUP INCENTIVE TRIP TO

This is a luxurious getaway to Kona, the Big Island, for all qualifiers and their guests. The trip is scheduled for October 26th - 30th, 2016.

The Top 5 Agents, Top 5 Managers, and Top 5 Regional Directors will receive First Class flights and limousine service to/from the airport in your arrival and departure cities (based upon availability).

GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. All Qualifiers must be active and in good standing as of the time of the trip in order to qualify and attend.

2. Cash bonuses (or equivalent) will be paid on the trip.

3. There will be a 10% production bonus on all applications that include a completed FCGS membership form.

4. All reservations will be non-cancellable, if you commit to the trip and do not attend, you will be charged for any nonrefundable portion of the cost.

5. Proper travel documentation is required.

6. Apart from cash bonuses, the trip has no cash value. If you qualify and do not attend, then there is no payment due to you other than cash bonuses earned as described herein.

7. This trip is for adults only. It is okay to bring a minor as your guest if they are your child and at least 16. If you are bringing additional children or guests, please make your own arrangements for them (including transfers to and from the airport). All company functions, including receptions, meetings and meals, are for you and your guest. Unfortunately, additional guests are unable to attend any company function.

8. The company may use an alternative airport, flight, or airline other than your preference. Any additional costs from any variation from such will be at your own expense.

9. Please contact the airline directly if you are using airline miles to upgrade or to add a guest.

10. If you are extending your trip beyond the company convention, please make your own hotel and travel arrangements for that part of your trip.

11. The company reserves the right to change any of the terms and conditions of these contest rules, and company records will be used to determine qualifiers.

PRO RATA QUALIFICATION

Any new agent or agency (not previously with the company) that becomes active during the contest period and who writes the equivalent required production on a prorated basis will qualify for the trip (no bonus), provided the agent is currently active and has been in production with the company since January 2016, at least eight consecutive months prior to the end of the contest period.

PERSISTENCY ADJUSTMENT

Company standards are 80% valid* 7th month persistency and 10% NTO rate on checking account business (Savings and debit/credit card production and persistency will be calculated into your contest total, if persistency on each of these is at least 70%). If first year persistency is lower than 7th month, then it will be used. For each percentage point that your persistency and NTO rate is higher or lower than the company standards, your production will be adjusted up or down by a like amount. For example, if your persistency is 2% better than company standards, then your production will be increased by 2%.

Direct bill business does not count toward contest totals.

If the persistency and NTO adjustment results in downward adjustment of greater than 15%, then you will not be eligible for the trip or other incentives. For managers, the adjustment will be based on total agency persistency and NTO results.

*Total 7th month measured is at least 20% of total first year. If not valid, first year less 5% will be used and no positive adjustments will be made.
