As President – Your First Meeting

• Have an agenda• Show a lot of enthusiasm• Be friendly and cheerful• Be thankful for those in attendance• Be on time

• Make your meeting place look positive• Place flags, banners and other memorabilia so

all members and visitors can see• Display the R.I. Theme banner• Make festive • Identify your club with a pin or banner that

• Great visitors properly at the door• Don’t let visitors wander around the room by

Leadership Tips

• Take constructive criticism as a positive to correct a situation

• If the situation is recurring make it a board decision to be voted on

• Treat your Rotary club as your extended family

• Easier to find a solution than to replace a good member

• There are more casualties in Rotary due to friendly fire

• Use the basics of Rotary to solve problems• Ask Rotarians in your club for their opinion

about the future of the club and where they fit

• Encourage meeting make-ups when Rotarians are travelling, it will expand their horizons

IGNITE Program

• Institute the IGNITE membership program in your club

• Share the details with your membership committee

• Incorporate recruitment and retention techniques

TRF Grant Process

• Your club must be certified with Future Vision in the District to be able to get grants

• Change by-laws to select Pres. Nominee in the fall

• Write about your projects on the Rotary International website, the Rotarians magazine and send to the local newspapers

• Do participate on International Projects• Promote the Rotary Foundation• Your club will donate more and learn to give• Promote the six areas of focus and look for

sustainability in projects

• Attend the International Convention in Sydney, Australia

• Tell your members about the House of Friendship at the Rotary International Convention to meet people from across the world and establish grant partnerships

• Encourage members to attend an International Convention to meet Rotarians from around the world and promote understanding
