Heinemann Asia Pacific and Plaza Bali have been awarded a contract to operate Duty Free Multi-Category and Packaged Food concessions at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, Indonesia,Terminal 2, by PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero). As previously reported, PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) began the tendering process for its duty free concession at Juanda International Airport, in July 2013. PT Angkasa Pura Satu, Indonesia’s state-owned civil airports company covering eastern Indonesia contracted South Korea’s Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) Consultancy Division to prepare the duty free and commercial facilities development plan. Juanda International Airport Terminal 2 is due to be completed shortly and serves Indonesia’s second largest city, Surabaya. The concessions awarded to Heinemann Asia Pacific and Plaza Bali include 452sq m of retail space on International Departure (Airside) and two Packaged Food concessions located in airside and landside, measuring 96sqm and 141sqm respectively. “The concessions will showcase top international brands and local Indonesian favourites,” says Heinemann. They will carry a wide range of products across many categories including Perfume & Cosmetics, Leather Goods, Travel Accessories, Liquor and Tobacco, Fashion & Accessories, International Confectionery and Local Delicacies.” Steffen Brandt, Chief Executive Officer of the wholly-owned subsidiary of Gebr Heinemann, based in Singapore, says: “When we started business in Asia, Indonesia was one of the countries at the top of our list.
