AUV Remus 100 – Key Capabilities
Modus have brought to the Offshore Oil and Gas market the HAUV-1.
This system is based on a Sabertooth, one of the most advanced AUV systems available in the market. This vehicle represents the very latest in merged AUV and ROV capability, operating as both a survey and inspection platform with the ability to operate tethered or untethered with 6 degrees of freedom in both Autonomous and ROV modes.
The vehicle operates in deep and shallow water depths and has a long excursion/endurance range. The HAUV-1 also operates in a high speed

Cost reduction - operational synergy & deployment flexibility
Option 1- System deployed from Subsea dock:• Safe Autonomous docking / undocking• HAUV can wait recovery to fit with other
activities• Dock can be adapted for residency (data
and power transfer)
Option 2- System deployed from floating dock:• Offers flexible and safe LARS solution• Can be deployed from small vessels• Fast and effective
Synergy Deployment
• Modus can utilise the HAUV-1 on vessels already engaged byoperators, such as supply vessels, W2W vessels oremergency response vessels.
• Small footprint and modular nature reduces mobilisationcosts (In 2018 System was shipped from UK to NorthWestern Australia in 7 days to mobilise to local vessel forpipeline inspection campaign at low cost)
• HAUV-1 is truly autonomous and can be deployed toperform subsea tasks in synergy with the mothership, reducing the number of vessels required and thereforepeople/equipment throughout the lifecycle of adevelopment.
• This technology can be further be used to set up residentsystems that are controlled from shore based operators.

✓ Engagement with operators shows strong interest in reducing usage of expensive divers which carry large health and safety risk
✓ Underwater robotic solutions can reduce costs and increase RQHSE.
✓ Enable more proactive monitoring & inspection –better understanding of what is happening on site.
✓ Important for lifetime extension.✓ Understanding of issues varies from operator to
operator and site to site.
Next Generation Robotics and Autonomous systems have a huge opportunity to revolutionise the industry
Modus Sabertooth Solution offers significant reductions in inspection & survey costs by:-
Conclusions
SIMOPS - in autonomous mode performing additional tasks from the same vessel eg during UXO survey and investigation
Autonomous Operations - Subsea inspection of turbine structures and cables
High Current Capability – Expanded operational envelope
Long Term Residency – deployed from a W2W vessel, substation platform, visiting vessel
High Speed – Can survey at up to 4.5 knots
Stable Platform – Acoustically quiet - optimises survey results.
