Mid-Week Adult Enrichment
January Series
“Sabbath As Resistance: Saying NO to the
Culture of NOW”
(Based on the book by Walter
Brueggemann by the same name)
Sabbath is not only a congenial, spiritual
discipline but is an alternative to the busy,
frenetic, anxious, workaholic consumer
culture that we indulge. Join us for three
weeks as we explore a new understanding
of what Sabbath means for us and in the
process, find restoration for our homes and
our society.
*If you were present at our Autumn Dog-
wood Acres Retreat, and attended the Bi-
ble Study, you got a taste of this book’s
reflections.
Join us for an expanded study!
The series will be facilitated by
Greta Reed and Linda Smith.

Grace Mission is holding a new fundraising event at Madison Social on Feb. 7th from 6-8pm. Madison Social (located at 705 S. Wood-
ward Ave) will be our host for a fun social gathering. All you have to do is simply show up. We are calling the event Tips for Trips - let me explain. Grace Mission receives the tips (from the tip jar) from the
evenings event. You can order drinks and dinner from Madison Social (who has great food if you haven't eaten there yet) but the tips at the
bar go to Grace Mission. The tips will go to help pay for the many adventures and field trips we hope to take with our Youth Group
thus, Tips for Trips! This is a great mid-week date night out and a fun time to meet and connect with so many people who support Grace
Mission.
The Launch Youth Group at Grace Mission would love to attend a FSU or FAMU basketball or baseball game this season. If you have any
tickets you would like to share so the Youth group can attend please let us know.

Childcare at FPC on Sunday Mornings
Our nursery and preschool rooms are staffed by childcare providers from the Heavenly Helpers Agency. These childcare professionals are
background checked and trained in infant/child first aid and CPR. They are present in both rooms from 9:00 a.m. – Noon each Sunday.
Main Floor Nursery: Our nursery is for infants and toddlers who are not yet 2 years old. Parents can drop children off beginning at 9:00
a.m. and children will be cared for through the worship hour. There is a sign in sheet for parents to list who will be picking their child up, an
emergency phone number and any particular needs the child may have while in the church’s care. Children should come with a bottle or
sippy cup, preferred snack and diapers. Diaper wipes and additional snacks are available.
Two Year Old Class: Two year old children have their own Sunday school class upstairs in room 307 during the church school hour and in
305 during the worship hour.
Preschool Classes: Beginning at age three, children attend our preschool class in Room 305. There are four teachers who rotate responsibil-
ities for preparing and leading the church school lesson during the church school hour, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. There are two Heavenly Helper
caregivers in the classroom helping the teacher. At 10:30 children have snack and the teachers leave to attend worship and the caregivers
stay to supervise and interact with the children as they enjoy the housekeeping, block town, train set, light board and other centers in the
room.
Care for children lasts through the worship hour.
