WHAT ARE SUBJECT AND OBJECT PRONOUNS?

SUBJECT PRONOUNS

A subject or subjective pronoun performs the action. It goes BEFORE the verb.

E.g.: My mother likes roses. (my mother: subject) She likes roses. (SHE: subject pronoun)

OBJECT PRONOUNS

An object or objective pronoun receives the action of the verb. It does not perform the action. An object pronoun is the object (direct or indirect) of the sentence. It goes AFTER the verb.

E.g.: She likes roses. (roses: object) She likes them. (THEM: object pronoun)
