Specialized one day on camp craft

To make up different environment on camps, we planned to conduct a camp on Camp Craft and Gadgets, which it will useful for scouts in competition and day to day life.

As we planned, near 15 scouts have participated in specialized camp and gained their knowledge and some of the senior scouts had this opportunity to refresh their earlier thoughts on camp craft.

Part – I (30-dec-2013)

Camp was been inaugurated at 09.00 am by GLS/S Mr.V.Arivazhagan and he gave short note on camp , what are all the things, going to happen today (30-dec-2013). And scouts were spilt up into their respective patrols.

First session of the camp was to add theroictal knowledge about camp craft, pictorial knowledge was also given to new scouts so that, while they were doing in practical session, they will be easy to find everything.

After some time, senior scouts thought new scouts, how to begin with lashing and what lashing to be used for flag mast and tent. What are uses of sheer mark I and sheer mark II and Square lashing too.

Scouts gained their knowledge, after that team was been spilt by two scouts each, and they were given task of put lashing at given time with the guidance of the senior scouts.

Now scouts were ready with lashing, some senior scouts made one flag mast and scouts were very keen to absorb and they also come up with many doubts, and they also got clarification in their doubts, and also complete instruction was given about marking of the flag mast.

After some time each team has to make up individual flag mast and with the help of senior. Scouts finished their task in given time and report to GLS/s.

And final event of the day was about investiture ceremony to new scouts, which makes them, this camp has most memorable one in their scouting life.

PART II (05-JAN-2014)

Part II of Camp Craft & Gadgets was practiced, some of the new model of gadgets where did by our scouts. Some of them also came up with new ideas of gadgets which will be help full in day-to-day life of camping. Every one enjoyed practical session when compared with other session in scouting.

Thus we ended our Camp craft and gadgets specialized camp with successful note. Every scouts where benefited in scouting career.
