• COVER 78 WEAK is a Three Deep Zone Coverage with rotation to the weakside of the formation.

• COVER 78 WEAK is a PLAY IT defense that NEVER MOVES vs Motions and shifts.

• The cornerbacks play right/ left and stay on there side vs all formations.• The Nickle DB and Strong Safety always align to the strength of the formation. And make NICKLE RIG

• The Free Safety and Strong Safety always line up in a Two Deep Shell and stem to their assignments.

• The Free Safety’s rotation is always AWAY from the Nickle and is tagged with a call ROB=RIGHT-------

• The alignment and rotation can also be predetermined for game planning measures.

• The Two Inside Linebackers line up to these rules. Backer always align to the side of the Nickle DB /

Nickle.

• This coverage can also be used vs fast-tempo offenses and align and rotate without relationship to t1. 78 ROB---rotation right/ nickle align left-------NICKLE LEFT

FREE SAFETY

CORNERBACK1. QB 3 step drop read to #2 to # 1

2. # 2 and # 1 vertical drop into the middle of your 1/3 and red QB front shoulder

3. Backside of slot Corner squeeze TE to post with outside leverage.

4. Bail tech can be used vs a single WR side. Never use Bail tech vs two detached WRs. See QB5. Use Loose 1/3 tech when more than receiver on your side. #2 to # 1 read
