The challenge is to become more effective ones. INTRODUCTION I. Attention Step They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, thanks to modern day technology, photographs are being taken and shared at a breakneck speed, recounting the experiences of different people. With the advent smartphones and their ever progressing cameras, social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and other trends such as the “selfie” (which I’m sure everyone in the room is guilty of doing), photography becomes more accessible to everyone as an avenue of imparting their experiences. It’s pretty much down to these steps: click, pick filter or collage, then upload, delete. The value of the pictures we take usually boils down to whether or not we decide to keep it or delete it for those oh so precious memory space our gadgets need. That’s why I challenge you guys to stop, and think before hitting the shutter. Because if you’re going to freeze a memory and share it to the world, at least do it with a bang. BODY I. Title: Your inner photographerSpecific speech purpose: To get others to take up photography, and to convince others to be more critical with the quality of photographs (especially in social media platforms)Statement: In this day in age, we are all photographers. The challenge is to become more effective ones.

INTRODUCTIONI. Attention Step They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, thanks to modern day technology, photographs are being taken and shared at a breakneck speed, recounting the experiences of different people. With the advent smartphones and their ever progressing cameras, social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and other trends such as the selfie (which Im sure everyone in the room is guilty of doing), photography becomes more accessible to everyone as an avenue of imparting their experiences. II. Clarification Step Sadly, from my observations, the art of photography is being watered down by most people these days. Its pretty much down to these steps: click, pick filter or collage, then upload, delete. The value of the pictures we take usually boils down to whether or not we decide to keep it or delete it for those oh so precious memory space our gadgets need. Thats why I challenge you guys to stop, and think before hitting the shutter. Because if youre going to freeze a memory and share it to the world, at least do it with a bang.

BODYI. In order to become good photographers, you must first understand what photography means. Photography comes from two Greek words photos meaning light, and graphein meaning to paint. Essentially, photography is painting with the light. Every picture is itself, art.II. The thing about being a photographer is that you see things in a different perspective. You dont just settle with what you see in plain sight. You have to shake things up a bit. *Show pictures: Cheers! And Cagsawa ruins*III. Also, being a photographer means that you become more adventurous and daring. Its all about the experience. Photography is one of the best ways to preserve what your eyes have seen, and what your body has felt in those moments. *Show pictures: Giraffe feeding*IV. Basically, being a photographer means that you make the most of what you have. Its about utilizing the timing and the beauty you found in a subject in order to bring out the life and message behind it.

CONCLUSIONSummary Step: Photography is a powerful form of art that anyone can develop. It is currently one of the most used media in sharing our experiences with others. I challenge you guys to become good photographers in your own light. Bring out the true meaning behind your photos. Prove to the word that a picture is indeed worth a thousand words.
