Lunch Workshop: Organization

ORGANIZATION IS FUN!

Keeping a physicalagenda

Keeping an online agenda

Aim for something in the middle? … ;)

FIND YOUR OWN BALANCE

Keep all Tests/Quizzes and use them as study tools!Organize them for each subject that you have an exam.

Going forward….

After each quiz, when it is taken up, see your teacher for help on the ones you got wrong....teachers use similar questions to make tests!

After each test, when it is taken up, see your teacher again on the ones you got wrong...teachers use similar questions to make exams!

How Tests and Quizzes Work!

While teachers take up a quiz/test, write all the correct answers for questions you got wrong or did not receive full marks on!

4 Rules to being organized on GAPPS...

1. Move important items into your Drive from your “Shared With Me”a. You can Make a Copy or “Add to my drive”

2. Create course and unit folders to organize your work

3. Use colours to help sort or label your folders

4. Name your Docs, Slides, etc.. so that you know what they are > choose a name that you will remember so you can search it later a. (i.e. Your name_project title)b. NO “Untitled” files, please!

Organizing Using Folders In Google Drive

In your Drive:

● Make a folder for each

course (ex. Gr 9 Science)

● Within each course

folder, make a folder for

each unit (ex. Chemistry

Unit)

● Upload your

Docs/Slides/Sheets into

the appropriate folder

*Create one folder called “Elementary School” and move all your old files from Elementary in there.

*Your folders should be labeled with the grade and subject (i.e. Gr. 9 English)

Organizing Using Folders In Google Drive

Colour Coordinate Your Folders

> Right click on a folder

> Choose “Change Colour” and select a colour for each folder

Clearly name your Docs, Slides, etc.. so that you know what they are!

(i.e. Your name_project title)

> Right click on your Doc/Slide/Sheet

> Choose “Rename”

> Name your Doc something that you will remember so you can search it later

You can also organize straight from your file...
