AND TOURISTS, FOR SWOT ANALYSIS AS TOURISM
DEVELOPMENT

Abstract: Don village has a scope of recorded, normal and social possibilities. The
advertising procedures arranged with the intend to make and build up Don's tourism and
at what stage is the picture of Don is the topic of this paper. Reflected fundamental likewise
to lead a SWOT investigation on tourism improvement procedures and correspondence of
Don hill station as a vacationer goal.

I. INTRODUCTION
SWOT analysis is important for preparation for plan of tourist proposal. From SWOT
analysis it is easy to understand what are the strength, weakness, opportunities and
threats for effectiveness of plan.
During the time spent examination, investigation and arranging as needs in the field of
tourism emerged:
1. Enhancing the nature of the current and development of new foundation;
2. Marking the locale as a traveler goal;
3. Characterizing visitor offers and items and appropriate advancement and
introduction.
II. GEOGRAPHY & LOCATION OF DON-HILL STATION
Don hills are situated at 20.727606°N
73.863975°E. Don hill is on a good country
in the Dang woodland region of Western
Ghats (Sahyadri) run at an elevation of
around 1000 meters, higher than the close-
by saputara and situated close Gujarat –
Maharashtra fringe. It is found 33 km from
ahwa and 55km from saputara. It's as yet

III. LAND USE
Don hill station is an uneven town, toward the east there is a scope of Sahyadri. Don hill
station is close to Saputara. It is loaded with slope extends and undulating geography.
There were red soil everywhere throughout the region. The territory of Don town is 1203.30
hectares out of which 229.25 hectares of land is under agribusiness and in that rice and nagali
are the fundamental harvests.

Language of people of Don Village is basically konkai, Although they are familiar with
gujarati, hindi and marathai, As we share boundary with maharasthara state. The people of
Don village are mostly medium black in color. Rice and Nagali is the main food of the
village.

V. TRANSPORT
Don hill station has plan of smooth tar streets till the end. Considering open transport, state
run GSRTC transport goes straight up to Don hills too. In any case, claim vehicle is the most
ideal approach to investigate the district. The closest Railway station is Waghai Railway
Station. Petroleum pump is available at Waghai, Vansda and Ahwa.

Tourists in the age group 20 to 30 are more. Young members in the society are more prioress
the hill station hence they are visit such place.
Purpose of visit
Don hill station have its own way of life and loaded with regular magnificence henceforth
visitors, visit this place with various purposes like Entertainment, Enjoy normal excellence,
Enjoy with family, Enjoy with companions and Enjoy lengthy drive.
Halting duration
Due to lack of accommodation facilities most of the tourist (almost all) visit this place for one
day.
Expenditure pattern
Expenditure on traveling & food are most & due to lack of entertainment facilities the
expenditure on entertainment is nil.

Mode of transport
Don hill station is situated at slightly inaccessible location and hence most of the tourists use
their own or hired vehicle. Some tourists also use their two wheeler vehicle.
Medium of information
Most of tourists get information about this place from their relatives and internet. Which
shows this place requires advertisement on media to attract more tourist.
VII. SWOT ANALYSIS FOR DON HILL STATION
Strengths
• Historical and Archaeological values.
Don hill houses a hillock known named after Dronacharya and the Pandav village on
the approach has old caves blessed with water falls. It is a historical village dating
back to the Mahabharat and Ramayan era.
• Don Hill is very near from Saputara Hill station. (52 km)
• Geographical features - Unique Mountain Environment.
• Good range of viewpoints – Sunset, Sunrise and Variety of Landscapes.

Weaknesses
• Lack of proper accessibility.
• Insufficient Civic Infrastructures.
• No awareness for needs of Eco and Nature tourism among people and Government
agency.
• Lack of conservation management of tourist spots.
• Major population is LIG and EWG categories.
• Lack of efficient public transportation.(Only 3 buses from gadad to Don village)
• Little awareness of Don hill destination in tourism market.
Opportunities
• Huge Potential for Eco – tourism.
• Vast opportunities for nature and adventure tourism such as – Tracking, Camping.
• Relatively large rural population offers opportunities for participation in tourism.
• Second homes/Holiday at Don hill.
• Life styles of local people, Local products can promote village development.
• Generate Economy at local as well as state level.
Threats
• Lack of quality Education.(Only one primary school in the village)
• Cleanliness and Sanitation challenges to Environment.
• Over Conservation of forest area.
• Lack of environmental awareness of local people and tourist.
• No participation of local people in tourism.
• Continuous poor road maintenance.
VIII. CONCLUSION
As per the above investigation of elements, plainly Don Village has characteristic
magnificence and landscape. Little contrast is found in the accompanying variables,
temperature, precipitation, utilization of field, populace, transport and correspondence and
human life in Don Village. Improvement of transportation is occurring. Human occupation
has been changing and alongside the cultivating tertiary occupation has been creating in this

town. It is unmistakably found that all progressions are reasonable in the perspective of the
advancement of tourism in Don Village.
