Overview:
Study Hall is an ungraded academic period. It’s purpose is to allow students time in school to work on related material,
meet with teachers, extend group work, seek peer help, and use the computer lab - especially if that technology is not
available at home.
As with any other class students should arrive for study hall:
• On time
• In Uniform
• With all necessary materials
“Necessary materials” will always include your outside reading novel. Unless there is absolutely nothing for you to work
on you should also bring with you some textbooks, notebooks, papers and writing utensils. If you have to ask to leave
the room to get something in the first 5 minuets, you are unprepared for class.
No passes to leave the room will be issued until 2:25, unless a prior teacher appointment has been arranged. Dismissals
for sporting or band events will be announced from the office.
Acceptable Study Hall activities include:
• Finishing class work from the day
• Working on homework
• Reading your outside novels to complete your reading requirements
• Seeking help from your teachers or other students
• Using classroom or school resources to complete school related tasks
This last point may include using the computer lab for such things as
• Checking snapgrades
• Doing research
• Using Microsoft Office to complete school work
• Yearbook staff
• Read the Principle’s Blog

STUDY HALL
• Access online text material
• E-mail assignments to teachers
Study Hall is not a ‘free time’ for students. Although teachers try to give you as much time as possible to work on what
you need, they may direct you in a specific activity.
