Job Description - ACAP Ambassador
Reports to: Marketing Manager

Role:
To assist the ACAP marketing team with the marketing and recruitment of domestic and international students to ACAP.
Responsible for:
Assisting the marketing team at ACAP with in-house and external events. Assisting at ACAP Information Evenings throughout the year. Attending school career exhibitions with ACAP staff members. Assisting at weekend exhibitions such as the SMH Career Expo. Providing testimonials and participating in media campaigns when necessary. Assisting with monitoring the ACAP Facebook group. Assisting with answering enquiries.
Selection criteria:
Student Ambassadors should have the capacity to promote ACAP and should possess and be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills suitable for working with groups and people at all levels within ACAP and externally.
Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills. Reliable, proactive and outgoing. Confident and honest in sharing their ACAP experience with others.
Salary: $21 p/hour (plus 9% superannuation)

What are the ACAP Ambassadors?
The ACAP Ambassadors is an exciting opportunity for you to be actively involved in promoting your program and ACAP to future students while also gaining valuable professional skills and training.
As an Ambassador you will talk with prospective students about student life and ACAP programs, particularly your program.
As an Ambassador you will be called upon to share your ACAP experiences with future students. You may be asked to speak at an event and you will be required to assist with events including Open Days, campus tours, careers expos, information evenings, and other industry events.
Most importantly Ambassadors will act as quality representatives for ACAP and strive to positively promote it.

What are the expectations of ACAP Ambassadors?
Attend orientation training. Be reliable. If you sign up for an event or a task, follow through. Be committed to
your work. Be proactive. Share your ideas about events, programming, and initiatives. Act professionally at all times. No smoking, drinking or cursing at ACAP events or
activities. Be dynamic, energetic, and versatile. Individuals should be outgoing and possess
excellent verbal communication skills. Be helpful, courteous and pleasant at all times. Dress appropriately at all times. Proper attire is an ACAP Polo shirt and slacks or
“business casual.” Student Ambassadors must arrive early for ACAP events, and are expected to
remain at the event until its conclusion.
What are the time commitments?
In order to apply you must be available to complete a minimum of 20 hours over the year.
Student ambassador duties will be conducted outside of class time and ambassadors will not be expected or encouraged to miss any classes. Student ambassadors will be expected to:
Attend an initial training session Assist with ACAP and industry events each semester as required and in
consultation with ACAP marketing staff
Student ambassadors hold their position initially for a period of one year, at the conclusion of which their performance and ability to continue will be reviewed by ACAP in consultation with the Ambassador.
Who can apply?
All currently enrolled on-campus ACAP students are eligible to apply. Approximately 5 students will be admitted into the Ambassador program in Sydney in 2011. Applications will be required to undertake a “Working with Children” check.
