STUDY ABROAD 1
PROGRAM OPTIONS
HOW CAN I STUDY ABROAD?The University of Regina has several options for Study Abroad programs whereby students can experience a semester, summer, or academic year abroad.
GLOBAL STUDYThe Global Study program is an established bilateral partnership agreement that allows University of Regina students to swap places with students from partner Universities across the globe. Currently, the University of Regina has 150 active bilateral agreements that allow students to study in Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and the Oceanic countries.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM (ISEP)
The ISEP program is offered by a consortium of universities and gives University of Regina students access to 300 schools in 60 countries across the globe. Students accepted through this program pay their tuition to the University of Regina and their housing and meals to Luther College prior to departure for their exchange program.
NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM (NSE)
This program consists of a consortium of universities in the United States, Canada, and US territories that gives students access to schools throughout the US, Canada, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands. Under this program, students have the option of paying fees to their home or host campus. This is a great way to study away and at home, especially for students who are not ready to be far away from family and friends.
NORTH2NORTH (N2N)
The N2N program provides University of Regina students with a unique Northern Arctic experience, allowing students access to various Arctic universities. This program also allows First Nations students the opportunity to learn more about the indigenous ways of knowing of the northern communities and territories.
2 STUDY ABROAD
FACULTY-LED STUDY TOURS OR SUMMER PROGRAMS
This program allows for faculty members to incorporate an international experiential learning component into a class. Additionally, for students not wanting to be away for long periods of time, they also have the option to attend creative, interactive summer short-term programs that are either hosted by partner schools or consortium schools from the National Student Exchange Program or the International Student Exchange Program.
GLOBAL INTERNSHIPS This program is a faculty specific internship administered by Education, Kinesiology, Social Work, and Arts which allows students to gain academic credit by completing a 15 credit hour internship class abroad.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS Volunteer programs allow students to receive international experience by volunteering abroad. These programs are primarily self-directed and UR International assist with visas and a pre-departure, cross cultural workshop.
For more information about any of these programs, please contact UR International Study Abroad at 1.306.337.2446, email [email protected], or visit www.uregina.ca/international/study-abroad
