Writing is one of our most potent forms of self-expression – something that should be accessible to the entire com- munity. At Boulder Writing Studio, we provide oppor- tunities for all ages and levels, from the absolute beginner to the active professional. We focus on all forms—from the short story and the screenplay to the magazine article and the memoir. Why Boulder? Few places in the country are better suited to the mission of Boulder Writing Studio. Boul- der’s artists, athletes, entrepre- neurs, and progressive thinkers make up a community united by the shared vision of creative and personal freedom. Writers have always been a part of this legacy—from Alan Ginsberg and Jon Krakauer to the thousands of people currently writing on their own or in small, ad-hoc groups. We offer writing workshops, mentorship programs, com- munity events and publishing opportunities for all ages and backgrounds, regardless of financial means. In short, we’re making a home for diverse, emerging creative voices in our community. In the next year we plan to enlarge our program to include family book clubs, author luncheons, film screen- ings, and dynamic readings with local writers and actors. In these ways Boul- der Writing Studio will continue to fulfill its mission to become the com- munity’s center for creative expression, writing excellence, and literacy. Why now? Despite Boulder’s affinity for the literary arts, until recently there was no commu- nity-based arts organization in the area focused exclusively on the full spectrum of creative writing forms and genre. Boulder Writing Studio fills this void, providing the re- sources, support, and expertise people need to explore this vitally important art form. I had a bunch of blog posts, one essay, and no earthly idea how to string together my thoughts in a co- herent book-like form. By the end of the eight-week ses- sion, I had fifty pages. He is a fabulous writing sage.” The Studio Experience “I constantly felt enriched by Christopher’s instruction. His style of teaching made me want to continue to pur- sue creative writing (even though I’m not an English major). I recently applied for the CU Creative Writing program and got accepted!” “Robert’s input was priceless. He is a careful reader and an amazing editor; his comments & suggestions provide a path towards improvement without putting words in the writer’s mouth. Whenever I put his suggestions into action, I found myself not just refining my work, but learning how to be a better writer. He has this ingenious way of guiding you towards your own voice.” “I’m so happy the writing studio opened in Boulder!” “Boulder Writing Studio has honed my skills, provided me with structure, community, and substantive feedback. B o u l d e r W r i t i n g S t u d i oWhy writing? Writing is one of our most potent forms of self-expression – something that should be accessible to the entire com-munity. At Boulder Writing Studio, we provide oppor-tunities for all ages and levels, from the absolute beginner to the active professional. We focus on all forms—from the short story and the screenplay to the magazine article and the memoir.

Why Boulder? Few places in the country are better suited to the mission of Boulder Writing Studio. Boul-der’s artists, athletes, entrepre-neurs, and progressive thinkers make up a community united by the shared vision of creative and personal freedom.

Writers have always been a part of this legacy—from Alan Ginsberg and Jon Krakauer to the thousands of people currently writing on their own or in small, ad-hoc groups.

We offer writing workshops, mentorship programs, com-munity events and publishing opportunities for all ages and backgrounds, regardless of financial means. In short, we’re making a home for diverse, emerging creative voices in our community.

In the next year we plan to enlarge our program to include family book clubs, author luncheons, film screen-ings, and dynamic readings with local writers and actors.

In these ways Boul-der Writing Studio will continue to fulfill its mission to become the com-munity’s center for creative expression, writing excellence, and literacy.

Why now? Despite Boulder’s affinity for the literary arts, until recently there was no commu-nity-based arts organization in the area focused exclusively on the full spectrum of creative writing forms and genre. Boulder Writing Studio fills this void, providing the re-sources, support, and expertise people need to explore this vitally important art form.

Studio summer kids’ camp critique session.
