Scrooge Scrooge and Marley had been partners in London

for many years. After Marley’s death, Scrooge continued

with the business alone.

He was a hard, clever,mean old man.The cold inside him, made his eyes red and his thin lips blue.

On Christmas Eve, Scrooge was working busily. His nephew visited him and they began

to speak about Christmas.

Scrooge was very angry and said that everyone who goes around saying “Merry Christmas”

should have his tongue cut out.

Then two gentlemen visited him.They helped poor people who had no food or clothes and they askedfor help Mr. Scrooge.He refused.

When he reached his front doorhe saw that the knocker had become the face of JACOB MARLEY!!!

Scrooge was shocked when Marley’sGhost appeared in front of him!

The ghost’s eyes stared fixedly at Scrooge and said that three spirits are going to visit him:

The first, the next day at one o’clock,the second at the same time thenext night and the third at midnight the following night.

The first spirit was

the ghost ofChristmas

Past.

It took Scrooge to thescenes of his childhood and youth.He was shocked to see a young Scrooge, a lonely but imaginative boy.

He recognized the Old Fezziwig with his family.

They were celebrating Christmas and they danced a lot.

The second spirit was the ghost of Christmas Present. It seemed specially interested in poor people.

When it saw people pushing each other or getting angry, it lefted its torch over their heads, and immediately they became kinder.

The spirit showed him the Cratchit household. The ghost informed Scrooge that the Cratchit’s good-hearted boy, Tiny Tim, would die.

A ragged boy andgirl crawled out from the ghost’srobe. The spirit called them CRIME and NEED.

The third spirit was the ghost of ChristmasYet to Come.

It showed Scrooge several scenesof people disscusing someone’s death, no one seemed pained by the death and most are happy about it.

Scrooge discovered that he was the one who had died and whosedeath had only pleased people.

He expressed the hope that the future couldbe changed.

Scrooge woke up in his bedroom and realized

that the whole adventuretook only one night.

In adition to smiling and being friendlyto everyone he saw, he sent a large turkey to the Cratchits, gave a donationto the charity workers he previously insulted. Also, he had a wonderful time at Fred’s party.

He never had any more conversations with spirits, but kept Christmas cheerfully and lived a happy life.
