Students of grade 1learn about the lifecycle of a

butterfly through a puppet show hosted by their very

own Parent Volunteers.

JSS PS has always been lucky to have extremely supportive parents. In

their maiden endeavor the Parent Volunteers of Grade 1 presented a

puppet show – ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’, in accordance with the ongoing

theme of Growth. The fantastic team comprising of – Mrs Payel, Mrs

Suchi, Mrs Malini, Mrs Banu, Mrs

Maureen and Mrs Kruthi took all

the initiatives to select a suitable

story, develop the script and design

all props for the sole purpose of

entertaining the kids. These

committed moms put in their best

effort to narrate the story of a

caterpillar, who eats healthy

vegetables and rests abundantly, to turn into a beautiful butterfly. The

entire life cycle of the egg developing to caterpillar then a pupa and

finally emerging as a colorful butterfly was presented in a way that was

attractive and appealing to the young audience. At the same time, it

was a smart way of instilling the necessity of healthy habits in kids.

A short question session at the end was thoroughly enjoyed by the

audience. Students recorded this amazing experience in their journal

to keep alive the memory, of this fantastic labor of love.
