Why PDP important for students

• To encourage reflection & planning– On progress: academic, personal, training,

employment, volunteering, leisure

• Why?– Students long time out of education– Prepare for competing in job market– Ready to discuss key events in university life

when they meet their PAA

• Key PDP stages:– Start of course; right choice? Dept policy?– Feedback; HEO assessment, action?– Programme Planning; reasons for choice– Results; plan for reassessment, right course?– Personal statement: achievements/ experience/

performance/ expectation/ action plan
