Home study activitySing the How Many? song together with your child. Have your child cut out 10 of each of the shapes (squares, hearts, stars, circles, triangles) from different colored pieces of paper and put them into piles of each shape. Pick up some of one kind of shape and hand the shapes to your child. Ask How many? and have your child count the shapes. Your child will answer with a number. Switch roles and have your child pick up some of the shapes and ask the question. You can also review the colors and the shapes.

Have your child draw pictures of the phonics words and write the first letter of the word under each picture. Point to each picture and say the words with your child, helping your child to listen carefully to the sound of the first letter. Listen to The IJKL Chant and chant it together.
