I’d love to introduce you to
Caitlin, one of my freshman disciples. Caitlin has had a huge
impact for Christ through
relationships in her freshman hostel this year. She has taken
the initiative to pursue women in
her hall over the past year and as a result, four of those girls joined
Bible-studies this semester!
Caitlin has a heart to see other students in her hostel come to
faith. Her desire to make Christ
known has led her to host a Nooma (Rob Bell) Discussion
Group in the hostel’s lounge that
meets every Monday after dinner to discuss what it looks like to
follow Jesus. I’m excited to see
how God will continue to use Caitlin next year for His glory.
Baptizing DisciplesBaptizing Disciples This semester I’ve seen God work in the heart of my girls to move them from an intellectual belief in Jesus as Savior, to hearts of obedience. Ruth and Adele (pictured here) are learning what it looks like for Jesus to be not only Savior, but also Lord [King] of their lives. Both Ruth and Adele somewhat
grew up in the Church but never made the decision to follow Christ in baptisim. They began to ask questions in action group about baptism and on September 28th, they stood infront of the Church, spoke of their commitment to follow Jesus and were baptized! Twenty students from their dorm came to witness their baptism, including five non-believers who heard their testimonies and were given an
opportunity to respond to the Gospel! And Jesus came to them and said,“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit , teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.“
–Matthew 28:-20

This year I’ve learned heaps about ministry
style, evangelism and launching a movement. But the deepest impression on my heart
comes from the question and the call Jesus
gives to Peter in John 21. I hear Jesus saying
to me, “Kara, if you love me, feed my sheep.” Some of my most precious Stint experiences
came in times spent studying, discussing and
praying through God’s beautiful Word with
my women. I recognize God’s blessing in
vulnerable and genuine relationships with my disciples as I’ve invested in them this
year. We truly are sharing lives as together
we’ve cried, laughed, rejoiced and
celebrated.
I was encouraged as Rebekah, one of my girls, recently shared of her year, “I expected my faith to fail with the challenges of Uni. But because of being a part of action group and learning to take God at His Word, these challenges have strengthened my faith.”
Praise the Lord !

Surprise visit from Bethany! Two years ago at Butler
University, I led a Bible Study on Romans with girls
from the different sororities on campus. Bethany was
in that group and is now a Senior studying abroad in
Auckland, NZ.
Bethany flew to
Wellington over
her mid-semester
break and we got
to catch up!
I love the
surprises God
plans for us!
FUSE: our monthly Movement Meeting
One of my roles on the Stint team this year was to partner with my teammate Lacey to provide direction for and plan our monthly movement meeting we have come to call FUSE. We desire FUSE to be a time where students from our five campuses around the city gather to actively and creatively lead each other in glorifying God by living missionally (Hebrews 10:24-25). On average, we have around 30 students come out for each FUSE event. August’s FUSE was one of my favorites of the year. We wanted to cast vision for our students and help them to understand their part in placing the Gospel within arms reach of every student at Victoria University. These pictures are from an activity we did to give the students a tangible explanation of our mission. We conveyed the idea that as students carry the string (the Gospel) with them on campus, that it would create a “web” over the campuses and that lost students would have an opportunity to meet Jesus as we cross their paths.

For God has
not called us for impurity, but in holiness.” -1 Thessalonians 4 Two Saturday’s ago we hosted a purity and relationships night at our flat for our girls. We invited three godly women from outside of CCC to sit on an informal panel and answer questions about holiness, faith and sexuality. It was neat to see Kiwi women partner with us in ministering to and investing in our girls.
Please check out my blog (www.roykoreview.wordpress.com) for a deeper look at how God used this night.

FF U T U R E U T U R E PP L A N SL A N S I’m extremely excited to share with you that God has called me back for
another year of ministry in Wellington, New Zealand! In 2008 God raised
up 15 women for me to shepherd and challenge to maturity in Christ. I’m
excited about the growth I’ve seen in them this year and desire to continue
speaking grace and truth from God’s word in their lives in 2009.
I will be returning home in early November to re-raise monthly and one-time support before heading back to NZ the first week of January.
A Step of Faith Before making the decision to say “yes” to a second year of ministry in New Zealand my Campus Directors asked
me to prayerfully consider taking on the role of Associate Campus Director. As an intern, receiving an offer to
provide leadership in this capacity is both humbling and daunting. I have experienced it to be especially true
that when I step out of my comfort, where I feel inadequate, I must proceed by faith. And Jesus always proves
himself to be my sufficiency and strength. As I prayed about it I felt the Lord saying, “Kara, trust me!” In
accepting this role I will be shepherding the other Stint women on our team and working alongside my Campus
Director to plan, direct and cast vision to the Team. This responsibility also includes training and developing the 4 new Stinters who will be joining our team. Please pray for me as I take this step of faith.

*Transition between Stint Teams: The new team arrives on October 10th so we will have a period of overlap between the teams. Pray that God goes before us in providing housing for 2009. *Student’s Summers: pray that students walk with the Lord this summer. Pray specifically for my girl Sarah as she returns home a new believer. Her family is very anti re ligious. Pray that God would give Sarah strength and boldness to defend her new faith. Pray that she wi ll be a witness to her family and that they would see Christ has t ruly changed her li fe! *Please pray for me as I prepare to return to the US. Pray for safe flights. Pray that God would bring me to full support in a timely manner so that I can return to NZ on January 9t h, 2009 . *Please pray about extending your partnership with me to reach Kiwi’s for Christ in 2009!
