Financial Support We want all our students to be successful and enjoy their time at College. We also know that some students are concerned about the costs involved with College, like travel, childcare and food. If you have questions regarding financial support please contact the Funding Team in the Student Information Centre for help. College Learning Allowance (CLA) Need help with some of the costs of studying at College? The College Learning Allowance (CLA) is a means tested fund for eligible students which can help with some of the costs of coming to college. These include: Childcare (if aged 20+) Travel Healthy meals. Funds are limited and early applications are always strongly encouraged. If you received CLA support this year and are returning in September you will need to re-apply. Free College Meals Did you get Free School Meals? You can now apply to receive help with the costs of healthy meals at College. To be eligible you need to be a student aged 16-18 and in receipt of certain benefits, or 19-25 in certain specific circumstances.

24+ Advanced Learning Loans Students aged 24 or over can apply for a loan to cover their course fees if they are studying a Level 3 or 4 course.

Anyone who has been accepted for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan can apply for CLA support toward the costs of travel and childcare.

Care to Learn: Childcare for those under 20 If you under 20 Care to Learn can pay your childcare costs and travel costs. Please ask about Care to Learn in the Student Information Centre, or visit www.gov.uk/care-to-learn to apply.

Health and Welfare – Personal Advisor Our Personal Advisor can help with a range of personal issues, such as:• Difficulties with life at College or with your course• Support with disciplinary procedures• Physical, Mental and Sexual Wellbeing• Bullying• Relationships• Children in Care• Housing and Benefits.

Support for Children in Care and Care Leavers We want all students to enjoy, achieve and stay safe during their time with us.

We understand that young people who are in care or leaving care may face additional challenges. If this applies to you the College has various forms of support available.

There are designated members of staff for Children in Care and Young Care Leavers, who can support students at college. They are based in the Student Information Centre (just to the right of main Reception).
